Newegg SGII

I only had to pay shipping, the VAT tax gets taken off at checkout.

Charlie

Hmm, interesting. Yeah I noticed when I selected Canada it removed the VAT.

This guy ordered from HandTec and had to pay GST when he received it though: nomis_md post @ MobileSyrup.com

Came to about $32 bucks plus a $10 FedEx charge.

And this guy ordered from Clove and had to pay customs fee of $50: Arcticsushi post @ MobileSyrup.com

Which shipping option did you choose?

Thank you. I want to pick one up as well. Did it come with an adapter from UK to US with it however?

Cheers!

The Clove phone is meant for the UK market. You do not get a US wall socket adapter. You do get a USB cable and it can be plugged into an adapter that you must purchase separately. I picked up one from Best Buy made by Griffen for about 25 bucks.

Thanks. So is it preferred to purchase from say Expansys usa?

I purchased one about a week ago from NCIX in Canada. They also have a US website. They price matched Newegg's price on phone and another $7.00 price for extra Momax batteries. THey also have a BT Keyboard on sale for $27.00 and it works fine with this phone even though it says it is a Mac KB. The phone appeared to be from Korea, and came with a power adapter. Out of the box it came up in Chinese characters. Was able to change that in preferences. There was still an optional CHinese Keyboard running, last night I erased the data in the processes area, not sure if that eliminated it or not. Otherwise no issues so far other than not being able to access my ROgers VOicemail. GPS is working well.

I think Expansys is more expensive. For Manitoba it works out to $725.68. Clove or HandTec are in the $650 range. Although depending on what you have to pay at time of receipt with Clove and HandTec it might work out to be the same.

I'm not sure if the Expansys ones are factory unlocked or unlocked after the fact. Anyone know? I assume if they're factory unlocked they're probably from Europe which would mean they'd probably come with a Euro power adapter.

See my thread here as well: http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...ocked-version-clove-expansys-usa-ship-us.html

There is a coupon floating around in which Expansys-USA would be cheaper than Clove, but Clove has been getting amazing reviews, so... I'm still deciding. I would like to buy the phone that was made in Korea, but for the UK market (factory seal) with a US adapter (not add-on). That seems to be the best one.

Im looking at your thread to. Where are the coupons located for Expansys? If I can save a few bucks then cool.

Still deciding myself, whether Expansys or Clove. ;)

Hi guys,
I also bought my sgs2 from newegg.com in August of '11. I think mine is a Latin America version because when I check the CSC theres only: VNO TTT TDR, and after googling this---TDR is the D.Republic region. Anyways, I'm on 2.3.4 has anyone had any luck updating to .5 or even .6 through kies or OTA? Btw I'm on At&t gophone plan (Unlimited everything).

I bought my sgii from newegg it had south American firmware on it,
I beleive I did 2 updates on it after I got it one using the check firmware on the unit and one with kies, after that I used odin to put 2.3.6 XWKK2 on it, works great with this version, good battery and better reception
