Newer models still having problems?

Got my replacement today an 003 to a new 003, the build quality seems amazingly better. The screen is level and below the bezel all the way around, no light leakage, and a obviously inferior to my eye screen. Definitely not as sharp as it was but over it, and very happy to be back in the EVO. That was a long 24 hours without a phone...

Could you post pictures?

Every Sprint store that I've been to (went to 6 Sprint stores, including 1 in FL) had EVO's with garbage build quality. None of the display models had screens that were level and below the bezel. Had 2 EVO's with light leakage. Disgrace. Never buying HTC ever again.

I just exchanged my 002 (didn't check which screen it had) because it had a lot of issues: light leakage under the 4 buttons and on the top left, slightly separated screen, grounding issue, scratchy ear speaker, and poor fitting battery cover. My new 003 has a Novatec screen and is MUCH better, it has fixed almost all of my complaints. The only issue I have with this one is that I can see a tiny bit of light leakage on the left side of the screen in 3 spots if I look really closely and at a certain angle. It's strange because that part of the screen can be pushed down a tiny amount but the leakage doesn't go away. My 002 could be pushed down a LOT more and the leakage would vanish but then immediately return once the pressure was removed from the screen. This leads me to believe that the leakage on the left of my new 003 is not related to any sort of screen lifting while the leakage under the buttons on my 002 clearly was. The screen on my 003 is below the bezel all around the phone even on the left where the leakage is. I think I am going to keep this one, I just hope that minor leakage on the left is a non issue.

I have a v3 model I got about 5 days after release date and it has light leakage on the bottom half, had been rebooting on its own, and gives me about 5-7 hours of battery life. This is even after i did all the tweaks like switching to cdma auto prl, shut off background data etc. Now that I know i have version 003 Gonna exchange it. What's the worse that could happen, I get the same probs?!?! <sarcasm 8-{

Get the OTA update and/or turn off auto Facebook sync.

I returned my V2 for a V3. My 2 had leakage and screen was freezing. I liked my V2 much better. Screen looked better, battery lasted longer, and still have leakage with my V3. Leakage is not a big deal anyway.

Unless you have serious probs with your V2, I would keep it.

I love my EVO. It's that good to take a chance and get one now. no phone really comes close right now, forget about trying to keep up with what's next on the Horizon, you'll go nuts. The Scorpion is the next big HTC thing. However ,I head its going to be a Verizon phone running LTE, who knows, to early to even think about it. Right now this min....EVO rules!
