Root newest global rom

Anyone have the ~500mb zip (rom) file? The link is toast on anything u try to use. (The link outta post #1)

OTA-Global-Stock-4.05.605.14 710RD-Rooted.zip

That link? Works fine, pretty slow today though, read the notice at the top of the page on issues they are having. Also, you might have to disable your ad blocker software. Also, try the Main Server (AZ) link, it is 4-5 times faster than the other ones, for me anyway.

yup. finally figured out my phone flashing/tweaking comp wouldn't load it...rezound wouldn't load it. bionic loaded and downloaded the file no sweat. gonna upload it in my dropbox and post a link so a few people don't have to eff with it...and now, i guess im going to flash the rom then backtrack and flash firmware.zip. after i rename it something...gotta read AGAIN>. ha ha..

Hey Scotty I'm having a scary issue with my phone right now and I have no clue what's going on. I followed Brenuga's steps through the unlock and battery pull, but now I can't seem to get my phone to boot. I had the white splash screen which I assumed was the point for the pull. I put it in (orange charging light was on at this point) and tried to boot to hboot, but something went wrong and I got the splash screen again. So I went to do another battery pull and now I can't seem to boot at all. I have no charging light and no connectivity to adb currently. What should i do now?

Edit: I decided to step back for a few minutes so I just let my phone sit and try again and it worked. I'm not sure what was different but I got it sorted out. Don't mind me and my panicked posting. *whistles*

Hopefully someone's still reading this thread. I want to install the files "OTA-Global-Stock-4.05.605.14 710RD-Rooted" and "firmware_4.05.605.14". Do I need to be rooted for the OTA? The zip file ends in rooted. I'm not rooted.

Depending on the answer to that, is this the right order in which to proceed:
1. rename "OTA-Global-Stock-4.05.605.14 710RD-Rooted" to "PH98img", place on external SD and reboot bootloader. Let that install.
2. reboot
3. go into fastboot and flash "firmware_4.05.605.14" according to post #5.
4. reboot

unfortunately, you are stuck while s on as far as the OTA,or using the OTAPkg with the stock recovery. you need to have started out from 3.14.605.5 in order to use the "official" ota/package.

the OTA-Global-Stock-4.05.605.14 710RD-Rooted file is a rom flashed in recovery, you cannot flash it in the bootloader.

you basically have 2 options:
1)re-unlock and flash a recovery. you can then flash the rom via recovery, then relock and flash the firmware via hboot.

2)s off, then run the 3.14.605.5 ruu so you can properly OTA

holler if you have questions :)

Can I just flash the new firmware (radios and hboot) without first flashing the rom?
thanks

you can,but i cannot recall if the boot image is compatible. you may end up with a non booting phone until you re-unlock and reinstall your current boot image.

i dont thing the new firmware is going to give you much benefit over what you have, without the matching rom.

what is your reservation with unlocking and flashing the new rom in recovery?
