Root Next level? ROM Q's

I am rooted (Z4Root, very easy), I used Titanium Backup to backup everything I could batch (user apps and data~245 item) and used Droid X Bootstrapper to boot into recovery mode and make a backup. Should I backup once again using another method? You can never have too many backups.

When I wipe all my data from my phone and flash a new ROM (GummyJar or Liberty), all I have to do is reboot in recovery and use my nandroid backup and then use Titanium to restore my apps and whatnot? Then I will be back where I was, just with a new ROM, correct? Is there something I'm missing?

Lastly: I heard that if I use Apex I won't have to wipe my data because it retains so many blur features, is this true?

you can never have too many, but i would say thats plenty.

boot into recovery wipe data. load zip from sd card (whatever rom you want) reboot, download titanium and restore.

Sounds like you've read some of my rants. :D

IMO, you should have two stock backups. I've had backups that don't restore so it's nice to have a plan B. Why don't you make one with Rom Manager and actually name it something that makes sense. This is what my backups look like in RM:

Some people downplay RM, but I think it works great to manage (create, rename, delete) your backups.

It's not that simple. Your paid (and many non-paid) apps will automatically install from Market. It's not safe to just restore everything via Titanium to a new rom. See Titanium 101 for more discussion regarding this.

Lastly: I heard that if I use Apex I won't have to wipe my data because it retains so many blur features, is this true?

That has been my experience.

the nandroid backup will revert to the state the phone was at when you made the backup, so if you flash a new rom, then nandroid, no you won't still be on the new ROM

So Titanium will restore all the things I need like my contacts/apps/stored data and info and the nandroid backup is for if a ROM is fubar or I just want to go back to stock DX?

So I should Titanium backup all my user apps and all the files in green and only restore that when I re-download Titanium after having wiped and flashed a new ROM? The files in red are bloat/unnecessary?

A backup made with recovery (nandroid) restores your entire phone and apps to the state it was when the backup was made. It does not backup or restore anything on the sd card.

Titanium is just for files, like apps and their data, contacts, call/text logs, etc.

Often the nandroid is used to restore a rom if you applied a theme and want a different theme, or if you try a rom and don't like it or if you want to return to stock to get the next OTA.
