I had a DINC ... LOVED it ... moved to a DINC 2 ... it's OK.
I'm due for an upgrade. What's the next logical progression? Does HTC have a new one coming out in the next 4-5 months? I like HTC and the DINC 2 is fine so I'm in no big hurry.
 
I'm keeping my Inc2 until I can get a dual/quad core, LTE, 4" screen phone with sufficient battery to last all day (probably 3000+ mAh).

That is probably late 2012 or early 2013 at the soonest, as it probably requires second gen LTE chips.

EDIT: I'm also holding out until VZW can figure out their LTE network issues.

I am kinda unsure about my next phone. I am kind of scared to get a 4G phone because of the terrible battery life and I am not into the extended battery thing making the device thicker.
HTC sense 4.0 is also around the corner, about a month away. Wonder how soon, if ever Dinc2 will get it.
I am curious to see what will be the first hTC sense 4.0 handset on Verizon.
I also would be ok with a 4.3"display but no bigger with dual core.
Big (4.3" +) seems to be the trends nowdays.
I don't want no big ole' phone like that...
We will have to wait and see...

Perfectly happy with Dinc2 now...
 
The 4.3"+ screen size bothers me. 4" is the perfect size so I'd be very hesitant to upgrade until one that size exists. But really, unless the developers of the apps really start writing poor apps, I don't think the speed will be an issue for a while. I don't think version compatibility will be for a while.

Seems like a lot is being put into upgrading current phone to ICS.

Apparently the Razr MAXX fits this bill perfectly and is ready to go now. Battery is non removable though IIRC which kills me personally but others might not find it as big a deal.

Half the problem with cameras on phones is because of consumer ignorance. Since the average person wants the most megapixels possible, and thinks that more is better, the manufacturers are cramming as many in as possible. For the same price, we could have a good quality 5MP camera whose pics would blow away the generally crappy 8MP cameras on phones now.

Megapixels are only one part of photo quality (and not even the most important part). A good quality lens, with a large aperature, and a quality sensor are all vastly more important than how many MP they can cram onto the sensor.

Until the general public gets educated on digital cameras, I dont think we'll see truly high quality camera phones.

Have any of you had a hands on with the galaxy nexus camera?

My father in law has one (with me telling him to get it over the razr) and I tested it out taking pictures of my very hyper 4 kids. The zero shutter lag thing impressed me, capturing the image as soon as you hit capture, not like this phone. (which is horrible for taking pictures of small children b/c they move so much)

You can also take still pictures while shooting video.

Like I said, I was generally impressed, with it being 5mp and all.
Very nice camera. Give it a try before anyone switches to an iPhone just for the camera. TheGnex is a little big though, maybe it takes getting used to... ;)
Gotta love the pure AOSP of it, probably great for modding.
 
I asked HTC when they were going to announce a replacement for DINC2. They replied with:
"Well we have already released several phones for Verizon lately: the Rhyme, the Thunderbolt, and the Rezound."
:confused:

There's got to be a good phone coming out soon...

And with the Ville, Edge/Supreme/Endeavor & Primo coming out at MWC. I don't know which one, if any, has the specs to land on Verizon...
...and all that's still a ways off.
They did recently offer the Tbolt for free... ??? And by that I don't mean anyone should jump on a free Tbolt "just because". They usually do that when they have something lined up to replace it...

I went from the DINC to the razr maxx. I got 46 hours before the battery was down to 10%. So if you need a 4G dual core phone that will last a long time then the only phone on the market is the razr maxx. The battery life is what sold me on the phone
 
I can't do anything bigger than 4". (That's what she said.) That's my big problem with all the handsets out there.

C'mon, you wouldn't even consider a 4.3" with the right specs...
I feel the same as you, but would go with a 4.3",...

I've tried 4.3" handsets in the store. They're just too big. I can't reach my hand across the screen.

All jokes aside they can be a bit awkward. Holding it with one hand trying to swipe down the notification bar can cause the entire phone lean towards the top end & flip out of your hand falling to the floor....
I have big hands with long fingers, still kind of a stretch. Not for everyone.

I would venture to say you have the exception to the rule then.

Don't get me wrong, I think the DInc2 camera is excellent. I remember camera phones that would produce the most horrendous thumbnail sized photos. Worthless really.

But under anything less than ideal lighting conditions, the camera leaves a lot to be desired.

It is no coincidence that you never even see the DInc2 camera on the list of the best smartphone cameras. It just isn't the greatest out there.

I'd say you are the exception as well. My DInc2 takes perfectly fine pictures under ideal conditions. Under lowlight conditions or the subject is a long ways away the experience leaves something to be desired and I wish I had my camera around.

I have small hands with tiny fingers. On a 4" screen like the DInc2 I have problems reaching the clear button in the upper corner after swiping notifications down. I use my phone with my left hand most of the time.
 
I think I could handle a 4.3", after a brief trial period.
My father in laws Galaxy Nexus is a bit awkward to handle, though...
 
I don't know that I ever could get used to using a phone with two hands. The screen looks nice and all, but you're using a phone w/two hands.
