Next Update (Verizon Note 3)?

I know KitKat is out and for Verizon we're all on 4.4.2.

But I see and hear about 4.4.3 and even 4.4.4.

1. Are we set to get any new updates soon?

2. Is android's new "L" update one of the previously mentioned updates or is it considered 5.0?

The last update screwed up so many things, I'm waiting on one just as a bug fix. Reception issues, s view issues...
