Root NexTheme ESE81 R3 Release (4/21/10) - New Goodies!

Well, I don't like this ROM's theme. :/ It's always the little things when it comes to themes... I don't like the green-colored text fields or the way the google search widget looks. It seems like a nice ROM though.

I really need to figure out how to make my own themes so I can tweak this stuff myself to match my own preferences, don't I?

Yeah I don't care for the green but everything else I like and the Battery life is good too

I was having boot loop issues and I think I found out why. It seems that when I set the Notifications ringtone to the "Facebook Pop" that is when I get problems. Can anyone else confirm this, or is this a known issue already? I think it's strange but I'm glad I found the problem because I really like this ROM.

first off, huge fan of this rom. Only one i can really consider "permanent"; i've yet to find a stable rom as ballin as this.

That said, i'm having some problems with SetCPU on this rom. I usually like to run my machine at 800MhZ and 1GhZ+ when I'm plugged in/charging. Unfortunately no matter how high i tell cpu to push it, it stays capped at 600MhZ. Is this something built in? How can I get around it?

edit: had to make use of the "performance" choice from the drop down menu rather than manually sliding the slider in userspace.

Do you have the device selection option in SetCPU set to "Auto-detect"? You need to, or it won't work correctly.

For those of you who want the stock neural network back:

The OP has been updated:

Hey Fab are you considering making the new helix launcher2 an addition to the ROMs you make? The reason I'm asking is because I see UD 10 has it which means it works on ESE 81 now, but I've never really been a fan of UD. Is this something you may be considering?

Download the .apk for Helix Launcher 2 as well as the .zip for NexTheme. Unzip the NexTheme archive, then drop the Helix Launcher 2 .apk into the system/app folder. Zip the files back into one archive and name it whatever you want, as long as it is a .zip file, then use it like a regular update.zip. This is what I did to get Helix Launcher 2 into the system apps and it runs extremely well and is very fast, even at stock clocks.

I just tried this new Helix Launcher. I'm liking it a lot, especially since you can remove the OS Xish dock thing :D

I may be releasing a build based on the BB leak later, idk yet.

Woo hoo! I hope you do release an udpate. I like this ROM especially the battery life. Hopefully the battery life will remain stellar even after your updates.

New version is up:

NexTheme-ESE81-R3.zip

Changes include newer version of HTC_IME that fills the whole phone in landscape, themed helix launcher2, a newer version of wifi tether, modified Music with new widget, and some other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head.

I will update the OP in a bit.

I will install this shortly.. need to make a back-up first

does this have BOTH Helix launchers? or just the new one?

Back to just the 3D helix launcher. I will upload the themed helixlauncher1 with instructions on how to install it to system later, for those that want that one instead.

If I run this as an update over R2, what has moved around? other then the helix launcher

might wanna delete wifi tether, htc_ime, and clicker from /system, just to be sure. I am using newer version of those apps.

The music app is updated too, but the name is the same, so it should just overwrite.

cool deal.. I have it on the phone.. need to charge the phone then apply it

I will use ROM manager for the install too

Don't know if this was asked so I apologize but is this based off of bb v1.0?

nah, it was going to be, but there was a boot loop issue with bb while I was theming it.

this is still based off of my deodexed ese81

The ROM has been updated with these widgets preincluded. They match really well, don't they?

Thanks to btdownloads7 over at Alldroid for theming them!

Fabolous, I love this ROM, and have themed the MotoTorch widget and Ringer widget to match this theme. Let me know if you want the APKs to include in this ROM.
