Nexus 4 Coverage

I'm considering buying the Google Nexus 4 and activating it through Straight Talk with an AT&T SIM card. The Nexus 4 can't use LTE networks, but it can use HSPA+. When I use AT&T's coverage map it says my area has the "Best" voice coverage and "4G LTE" data coverage. My question is how accurate is this map? What will my signal strength be? Will my Nexus 4 have access to HSPA+ in my area?

Thanks guys and gals!

Welcome to the forums :) We're glad you're here.

signal strength depends on to many variables for someone to say for sure what kind of signal you will get. I would assume you will get the same signal you get now.

If it has the "best" voice coverage, I would say that you would have good signal strength for voice calls/texts.
Not 100% sure how your data speeds will be seeing how the Nexus 4 doesn't support the US's LTE bands.
The map should be fairly accurate and the only way to know is if you ask people that live near you if they get HSPA+ in your area.

The Nexus 4 does have LTE compatibility on the aws 1700/2100 frequency. That is the frequency that t-mobile is using for their LTE, but AT&T uses the 700 frequency for their LTE. So even if you flash the old radios, you won't get LTE on AT&T. There's a sticky in the ATR subforum on how to get the LTE working on t-mobile for those lucky enough to live in their first markets.
