Help nexus 4 desktop does not rotate apps do?

For some weird reason my deskop does not rotate anymore but apps do. I saw the setting for locking its to to rotate screen when rotated. What could be causing this?

Did you check auto-rotate?


Mine rotates.

Yeah that is what I mean by I saw the setting. apps work fine just not the desk top. I know it used to work just not sure when it stopped. I tried a reboot.

Some launchers do that. I had one where only apps would rotate, but not the Lock or home screen.

yeah lock does not rotate, I do have a launcher. I use go sms pro and I think it installed a go lunch ( required ) but I dont see it.

hmm, settings in accessibility also, buts its check to rotate. I think its the same as the display setting.

some guy said this "Drag down the top status bar. In the middle, there is an icon to lock/unlock the rotation!" - no idea what he is talking about.

just installed a go launcher and my entire dektop ( as I like to call it ) is different. I can only guess that is what a launcher does, therefor I do not have one. My layout is stock.

Apparently so, if you search the net it clearly says n4 do not rotate. Ultimate rotation control makes it work.

If you're using Go Launcher, go to Go Launcher in the app menu. It has its own separate settings.

Could it be a theme?

I don't use any made themes. I use a picture I took for wallpaper. Mine has rotated from the get-go. The pic is in the gallery.

I do have ADW launcher. I don't use the themes, but I like the Ubuntu icons.

no I do not have a launcher I though I did, see above. Turns out the nexus does not allow rotation on the home screen and locker. This is what that link I posted refers to. Simple getting a rotation tool fixed it, go figure.
