Nexus 4 is no more????

I find this story really hard to believe. As the posts above have pointed out, it's not really LG's call, it's Google's. I know that the production volume has been crazy small so far, but it would make zero sense for Google to go to all this hassle then stop production after making just half a million units (if other rumours are to be believed).

My guess is someone asked LG if they were in line to produce the NEXT Nexus phone and they said they would prefer to concentrate on their own models - reasonable enough - and that this has been misinterpretted.

Maybe LG is annoyed that more people want the nexus which they make no profit on instead of their Optimus G that is nothing more than a skinned improvement of the nexus and the one they make profit on? I kid; but in all reality, it's probably nothing more than rumor.

I have my N4 and an Optimus G. If anything, all LG has to do is push out Jelly Bean to the Optimus G to keep it a truly great phone. My N4 is great and AOSP makes it fly, but it can't carry my music like I want because 16 GB just doesn't go as far as it used to.

You would assume LG is aware of this, but they've been the most tone deaf of the phone manufacturers when it comes to keeping software up to date. Hardware wise they're on top of the game. Now if they just get the software to keep up this time - otherwise the N4 is the ONLY hope they have of keeping in the high end of the market.

Lol....Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear!

This phone is an absolute success, to be frank any nexus phone from here on out will be a success. It all really depends on how far Google wants to take this unlocked phone thing.

Define "absolute success" from here it looks like a disaster.

Disaster? Really?

Rave reviews.

All available stock sold out in minutes.

Relatively few reported issues (compared to say, any recent iPhone release).

I'm struggling to see what's so disasterous here ..

The fact that demand was seriously underestimated - or production was deliberately restricted - is a problem for wannabe consumers and a missed opportunity for Google and LG, for sure. It's hardly a disaster: all they need to do is increase production.

If you haven't been able to get a phone yet, it's really frustrating but if you have a little patience I'm sure you'll get one in the end. I did.

If you had problems with your phone then it's a major bummer for you but you ought to be able to get a replacement under warranty.

No disasters there.

The success may have been restricted, but a win's a win.

You couldn't have said it any better!

The fact is I understand some people are pissed, mainly because of the lack of ease to pick one up. However when you get passed the notion of (YES) this is a hard phone to get a hold of, you basically take into consideration of how good this phone really is. That's the only real negative people can harp on at this point. I had my gripes with Google about the ease of getting one, problems with the play store during both launches, etc. But the one thing I will say...This phone is Friggin awesome, top to bottom, side to side, no matter which way you look at the wide scope of things...This is what a Vanilla Android phone should be, and true Android Android enthusiasts will 100% put the success stamp on this iteration of the latest nexus!

The LG story does make you wonder if Google just didn't expect the phone to sell so fast - or if they're limiting sales because they're not making money on it.

Re the Wallet story - unbelievable! The security around the PIN is really poor: crackable with just 10,000 tries?! There are bike locks that are tougher to break!
