Help nexus 5 lock screen

okay so when when i accidently press the power button twice when trying to unlock it, it will lock and turn off the screen and wont allow me to unlock till i reboot it or simply wait about 30-40 seconds. does anyone know why this happens and to stop it from happening again?
 
I tested it out on mine and had no issues. Has it always done this? Recently downloaded any new apps?
 
well I just got it this pass week and just been downloading apps so idk which app I could be but yes it has done for the pass 5 days or so
 
okay I'll try when I have some more free time, thank you. and no I have no apps that alter the lock screen the only thing I have for the lock screen is the day dream with the stock clock
 
okay I did the safe mode and the problem didn't persist. but once I was out of safe mode I notice my widgets were missing and after I put those on my home screen it was happening again. right now I think the weather channel app widget is causing it. since after I removed it it just stop locking up. so I'll keep the widget off my homscreen for now to see if is it happens again as for now it hasn't happen again.
 
Thats very strage :confused:

Keep us updated! It might be worth a shot uninstalling and reinstalling the app as well.
 
okay update: it has continued to happen. I now think its all widgets on my home screen that make it happen. I had a calendar widget and it happen again and ive also tested it with a flashlight widget and it persisted. right now I have no app widget on my home screen and it hasn't persisted. so will update again if it occurs again. as for now all is good well except any widget will make it lock up again
