Nexus 7 adb connection issue

Hi All,

I bought a nexus and now stuck on X. Put it into recovery mode and run Neuxus root toolkit v1.7.2 and flash stock + unroot. I get to nearly to the end and mentions that the ADB cannot connect to my PC. I have loaded the USBdriver. The nexus state is unlocked and in fastboot mode. Been trying now for 5 hours and driving me crazy. The issue is that in recovery mode, it cannot to connect to the device through windows 8. I originally did the recovery and reformat the cache etc but still got stuck on the X. Any help would be great - thanks.

Which version of the Nexus 7 do you have? The 2012 model, or this years?
