Help Nexus 7 might be dead

I know this has been talked about before, but I can't really follow how to fix this. My tablet worked fine and then all of a sudden it can't get past the "Google" screen. I can hold down the volume key and press the power key to get my tablet to the four choices of "Start, Restart bootloader, Recovery mode, and Power off. That is the only choices I can get.
Start just takes me to the "Google" screen again
Restart just powers down and then takes me to this screen again.
Recovery mode does not seem to do anything.
Power off does seem to do as advertised.
I have read to hold down the power button while pressing the volume up and can get some more choices like clearing the cache, but I can't seem to get to that option.
I have also downloaded the Nexus Rootkit by WugFresh. No mater what I choose it says no ADB connection. So can't figure out how to do anything with that program. Please help! Or is my tablet already a paperweight?

I highly doubt that your N7 is a paperweight. Especially if you can get it into bootloader/recovery mode and etc...
Is your N7's bootloader unlocked, is it rooted and have a custom recovery installed?
Or is it commpletly all stock?
Was there anything that you did to the tablet before this happened? Any changes made or apps added and/or removed or modifications made to it?

From the description of the recovery, it sounds like you have the stock recovery installed.
If you're receiving an error of " No adb connection" then more than likely you don't have adb and/or the drivers setup properly on your PC. You might also want to try a different USB cable and/or USB port on the PC like one on the back.

When you enter into Bootloader mode - Power off the device, then press and hold down the Volume down (-) button and the Power button together at the same time while the device powers up and it should boot you into bootloader. Once in bootloader mode use either volume button to scroll through the options and one of them should be "Fastboot" mode.
If you can get into fastboot mode then you can follow jhawkkw's excellent guide on How to Flash a Google Factory Image manually here - http://androidforums.com/android-system-mods-scripts-hacks/706533-guide-how-flash-nexus-factory-image-manually.html

Just simply follow the directions in the post install the Mini-SDK and the universal driver package for your PC and scroll down to your device and download the stock factory image and flash away.

Good luck!

It is stock. I made no changes to it other then adding apps. My daughter was playing SUDOKU on it and I believe it worked after that, but not sure.
When I do the Power button and volume button I don't see a Fastbook option.
The only ones I see are Start, Restart booloader, Recovery mode, and Power off. I can use the volume rocker to change between those 4 options.
I have tried a different usb port on my computer and still get the ADB error.
Thanks for your help

Using WugFresh's Program I can get the program to run the Flash Stock + Unroot through the cmd screen, but everything says FAILED. Then at the end it says wait for your device to boot up and of course my device does not do anything.

Personally I have always done commands manually and haven't used tool kits, although Wugs is a great one to use. They basically run an automated script that performs the adb/fastboot commands for you and should be straight forward and complete the process. I'm not sure why it is Failing.

I'd recommend trying to run Wugs again and see if by chance it does anything this time.

Also when you boot to Bootloader mode and connect the device to your PC, what does your PC recognize the device as?
Open device manager on the PC and see what it is being recognised as and if there are any uninstalled drivers or Yellow Triangles indicating an unknown device.

I am not really sure how to do the commands manually. I have done a lot of research on how to fix this and some of the commands seem a bit above my level. If they were broken down a bit more I probably could follow them.

Windows is showing my device as an Android Device through the device manager. Also, when I choose to Fastboot through Wugs it gets me to the Unlock bootloader screen, lets me choose Yes to unlock bootloader, but when I hit the power button to accept my choice nothing happens. I have pressed the power button fast, slow, held it down and just about everything else. It just stays on that screen forever until I force a power down and start over. I have even done that I bunch only to get locked out on the same screen. Any ideas on how to force pass the bootloader screen and get it unlocked so the rest of the commands work?
Thanks

Is there a post someplace that would show each step to manually unlock the bootloader and then I could do the rest of the stuff through Wugs?

Seems like even the manual ones take me to that unlock bootloader screen to have me choose "yes" and then press the power button. Power button seems to work since I am able to force a shutdown by holding it and I can power it back up to either the "Google" screen or the bootloader main screen.

Have you selected the proper device and build in wugs? Have you gone through the driver setup? Not having the right device selected makes it hang.
Also when you choose yes in bootloader unlock screen, it takes a while for it to do anything. How long have you waited. Sometimes it takes over 5 minutes.
