Help nexus 7 software problem

OK, so two days ago I tried to root my nexus 7 2013, but was unsuccessful. It would not get past the Google loading screen so I had to get a factory image so I grabbed the kit Kat krt160 Image. During the reimage, using fast boot, I installed all of the files including the radio file. This morning, the screen started to turn off on its own, regardless of screen settings. Then if I tried to unlock the device it would just turn off again. Also if I restart, it completely factory resets its self. Any help would be appreciated.

Why are you trying to instal kitkat? Why didn't you try just stock? Kitkat versions are still at beta, and still unstable. Make sure you have latest ADB. Don't forget about USB drivers for N7 as well. I used this tool kit [Toolkit] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.7.8 [Updated 11/18/13]: Nexus 7 (2013) Thread - xda-developers to root, flash recovery and flash kernels and it works without any issues. I'm not sure if you can enable USB debugging, but I would try to turn it back to stock.

To my knowledge, kit Kat has already been released and you can manually install it. I had already done that previously with out any side effects. I only stayed having problems after I attempted to root. I have been using my tablet after I wiped the cache. The only problem I have had since is the cpuis always at 60%with two cores always at 100%.my battery life is horrible with only 1 1/2 hours of screen time and I'm down to 15% battery. I looked into the setting's and the os has used 70% of the battery

and thats why I'm staying away from KitKat just yet. It has only been released, there are many bugs
