Help Nexus Boot Loop Problem - Video Inside

Hi there,

I've just joined the forum and hope to get some lights from you guys. I've been a proud owner of Samsung Galaxy Nexus since last Christmas. It's almost 3 months old, however mine starts to act up.

I've uploaded a video about the problem. I'll upload some photos and videos in my 2nd post.

As it says in the description, the phone is not rooted, a GSM one. Here is a screenshot of the phone's information.

I haven't got the time to bring/return it to a shop, as I bought the phone in Taipei, Taiwan, and I'm currently located in South East Asia where they don't have Samsung Galaxy Nexus here, so I guess the warranty is not available either.

When I went into bootloader mode and selected Recovery Mode, the Android icon changed into a Dead Android lying down with chest opens and also a triangle with exclamation mark.

I'm trying to gather few ideas from Android experts in this forum and hope they could shed some lights in regards of what is happening here.

Thank you for any feedback.

Hi there,

May I know where you bought the phone from? Can't you just return it to the shop? I've just realized Samsung doesn't have global warranty.

I was thinking of fixing the phone by flashing it with a google factory image using Toolkit for Samsung Google Nexus, however it had failed to do so. Here's a screenshot:

Can anyone let me know why the reflashing failed? Could anyone also pinpoint me to the right direction on how to flash an image without having to boot into android first and put the file inside sdcard/hdd?

Do I need to root the phone first to flash with a custom ROM? Problem is I couldn't root the phone because rooting process needs booting into android I think.
