Help nexus data issues

Hi I recently pitches a Samsung nexus and I have an issue, Im on orange dolphin tarrif and I have 500mb of data. However WiFi works fine but as soon as I leave the house I get no internet and my signal bar goes grey? Is there a solution to this problem ?

Under settings | wireless & networks | more | mobile networks is "Data Enabled" ticked?

Hi i have checked this setting and it was ticked but thanks for the reply:)

OK, just wanted to check that first. The white signal bar indicates you aren't connected to googles servers (and by extension, no mobile data). I'm a little stumped.

You mentioned you are on orange, is that San Francisco or UK? Sorry, I sometimes get the carriers confused. I may try and ask someone familiar with the carrier to take a look at this and just want to confirm.

What radio are you running?

I wonder if the issues Verizon users were experiencing are not just limited to Verizon units. You may have to switch out the radio, which will entail unlocking and rooting and installing the leaked Jelly Bean radio. That's the only fix.

It is from the UK yes:)
I have asked some friends to have a look. Hopefully someone will have some ideas.

Lets not jump too far ahead of ourselves.;) It is likely unrelated to the VZW problems as that is CDMA and AFAIK they don't use that across the pond.

I would try:

- Turning off wifi (Settings >> Wireless & Networks | Wifi)
- Turning mobile data on (Settings >> Wireless & Networks >> More >>
Mobile Networks >> Tick "Data Enabled")
- Toggling airplane mode on few a few seconds (Settings >> Wireless & Networks >> More >> Tick/untick "Airplane Mode")

Then you should see E, G, 3G or H appear over your signal bar (the cellular reception one, not the wifi one) and you'll have internet access.

If that doesn't work, then please go to Settings >> Wireless & Networks >> More >> Access Point Names and make sure you have a listing for 'Orange UK'.

If you click on Orange UK, the details inside should be as follows:

Name: Orange UK
APN: orangeinternet
MCC: 234
MNC: 33
APN Type: default,supl

All other fields should read 'Not set'.

If you have to alter any of the details under Access Point Names, you should then go and repeat the first list of steps afterwards.

Yeah, it's GSM only here.

Under settings, check your data limit. Is the box checked for set mobile data limit? Are you at or near your limit? The phone won't let you go over if the box is checked. Good feature on a limited plan to prevent extra charges. If that's not it, I don't know.
