Help Nexus Imprint Has Disappeared From My Device

So this is bizarre. I had to reset my Nexus 6P. As I went through the set up process I came to setting up Imprint. Before I could put my finger on the scanner the screen said "Failed to recognize fingerprint" and skipped the step entirely. So I go back into settings - security to try again and the option isn't even there. I factory reset everything again and still it's not there.

Any ideas out there?

If factory resets arent working I'd reflash the factory software via the factory image. If that doesn't fix it, you know its hardware related and should be covered under warranty.

I called Huawei, CS worked with me on it. No luck. Gonna send it out for a replacement. Obviously it's a hardware issue, you're correct. I know things like this happen but I hate that it happened a month into owning the phone. Doesn't instill confidence in the OEM. That's not completely fair, I know, but it is what it is.
