Nexus One: Android 2.2.1 OTA

Got an option to download today, but I'll pass. There's nothing in this that I'm dying to lose my root over.

Just got mine too. My phone had already downloaded it and it was ready to install. Is there a limit at which it would ask you if you wanted to download it? For us on limited data packages, I'm not sure I'd want an automatic download OTA and would switch to wifi instead.

OTA notification last nite, accepted it, applied & rebooted fine, no issues, about 5 mins (wasn't timing it...).

Have noticed no changes.. but I woz & iz stock, not rooted...

I do not know where to find radio info.... but if you let me know, I will get info but would not know where I was at frg33.
FRG33 was 5.08, FRF91 & FRG83 are 4.06

You can check by looking under 'About phone' and checking out the baseband number.

congrats mate, you got one finally! ;)

Yea , i had forgot to turn on wifi.. as soon as i did that, bang it came in.. first ever nexus OTA for me. I made fun of an evo owner today when i showed him 2.2.1 and he only had 2.2. lmfao

I haven't been on here in a few weeks but I just got this OTA last night and thought I'd login to see what it's all about.

Mine came through on 3G!

What's funny though.. I did the dial pad force check on the nexus one.. the Checking succeeded with the ! showed up, meaning no ota there. But like a minute later... I got the OTA notification!

Same here.

I'm disappointed to see that nothing has changed for me so far. Voice actions for clock and onboard mp3's still don't work. Google Voice's latest iteration still force closes and lags. I'll see if I can connect to the work wifi network when I get in tomo. That ceased to work when Froyo hit. (Yet I can still connect to any other network.)

After the update I now have a small pencil icon in the google search widget on the home screen that allows me to edit previous searches

Mine finally came through OTA two days ago(sorry, never logged back in). It happened right after I went into the app market to download my regular updates, then it said I had a new one. Took maybe only 7 minutes from download to restart. Not that long at all.

First thing I noticed was my browser was much quicker to load pages. I never really had any issues with wifi so I dont notice a difference on that. Could be a placebo effect also but I can swear my screen is more accurate with touches now too.

Well, the new update did nothing for my no longer being able to connect to wifi at work with Froyo. Still can't connect there but I can everywhere else.

Got the OTA notification on Monday, but it failed to install. I had rooted (one-click root) and modified the build properties file to solve the streaming music decode issue that appeared with 2.2. So, long story short, I had to undo my change to get the update to install successfully.

The good news is that I don't seem to have the audio quality issue following the update.

What I've noticed so far:
- The WiFi connection problem is better. I'm not convinced it's completely fixed, but it connects on it's own most of the time after I wake the phone up.

- The gmail client is a little different - the reply / forward controls are at the top now so you don't have to scroll all the way down to the bottom to get at them.

- I believe the navigation function may have been updated - there is now a 'map' button at the top of the nav screen that lets you see your progress on the map without specifying a destination. I'm not sure when this appeared, though - it might have been in the original 2.2 release.

I believe the update to gmail was an application update and not just specific to the 2.2.1 update.
