Nexus One Case Recommendation?

I've got the black diamond checkered soft case from ultra case and it looks great and is good, however the only downfall is that when taking photos with it, it comes out with the flash light reflected so u get a white washed kind of image... also the usb port at the bottom is kinda small so I have to take the case off everytime I'm plugging it in for charging/usb access...

So next time you've got it off, enlarge the holes a bit.

Ps. With these design faults in mind, I'd not be calling it good.

Here's what I did, and it's really worked for me. My case is almost like the Otterbox series cases now.
I bought 2 cases, one hard plastic and one silicone. I put the hard plastic on the phone first, and the silicone on top of that. Gives my phone enough protection so I can man-handle it without worrying too much. Add to that, a $3 (after S+H) screen protector and I'm gold!

Plastic case: Amazon.com: BLACK RUBBERIZED SNAP ON HARD SKIN FACEPLATE PHONE SHIELD COVER CASE FOR HTC NEXUS 1 NEXUS ONE + BELT CLIP: Electronics
Silicone case: Amazon.com: Premium Solf Gel Silicone Skin Case for Google Nexus One 1 - Black: Electronics

+ Screen protector..all combined still cost me under $10.

i ordered the same exact package after reading this thread. this package seems the same as the case mate tough case being recomended, but for 1/3 the price. it totaled out to like $9.40. waiting for it to come in.

I just got my Commuter Case from Otterbox, it is a silicon sleeve with a hardshell cover.

It slides in and out my pocket very easily! Comes with a screen protector which I have not installed.

Headphone jack and micro-usb openings have plugs that cover them from debris, nice thing is they are attached to the silicon sleeve so you can't loose them.

Overall think this is a premium case compared to the silicone cases I have bought on ebay for my N1. It's pricey at 34 bucks but having just gotten mine and putting it on my N1 makes me feel like it was money well spent.

@digital312
how much lint does the silicon sleeve attract?
from the pictures, this case looks absolutely awesome

its like the casemate tough except it looks sweet, how much thickness does it add?

So I ended up buying the Otterbox Commuter Series Case, and I have to say I'm extremely impressed, the hardshell cover feels slippery at first but once you get used to it it actually feels nice. The case is definitely worth the money, hopefully I wont have to see whether it can withstand a drop though.

I asked a question on Case-mate.com and they said that they are planning on making the I Make My Case and Artist Series availabile for the Nexus One. If you also like these cases can you add some votes to these questions so that it will draw more attention. I have included a link to the original post from the XDA along with links to all three similar questions that were asked on Case-mate.com. I already voted 3 for all three since that is the maxium number of votes anyways :D

:D Thanks for your support guys I see the number of votes on all three have tripled in 24 hours  I guess there are some true Nexus One fans still left.

got my package. and its great.
the hard case snaps together in two pieces, front and back. it came with an attachable belt clip that im not using. its pretty tough to remove the case once its on.

the soft gel case fits the phone itself and it also fits over the phone with the hard case already on. i can even put in on backwards to protect the screen.

the multi pack of screen protectors was great. i ruined the first one by letting it get dusty. second one went on great. i wouldnt know it was there if i didnt install it myself. i have several more if ever need to replace it. also came with a little soft cloth to wipe the screen with before putting the skin on it.

hard case arrived in like 5 days. soft case in like 8. screen protectors took about 14 days.

I use the Gelli Case by Case Mate.

Nexus One Gelli Cases, Google Phone Cases by Case-mate

I like it because it protects the phone without adding much thickness to it. It also provides extra grip in case I drop it. I also like the fact that it's the same color as the N1 and the back has a see-thru design.

Case Mate also provides a screen protector but I didn't put it on. Not bad for $15?

However, I think the Epik cases are almost the same material as this "gelli" case.. so get that if you guys want to save $10 or so. :)

The Seidio Innocase II is a very good case. The material provides a very good grip but it makes the phone a bit too bulky for my taste. It provides the N1 with great protection.

It's a very snug fit so it might not work with full screen protectors. I know for a fact that it doesn't slide on if you have a Zagg Invisible Shield or another similar product.

dont have any experience with the nexus one specific case, but i have gotten some really great cases from otter box in the past.

Just got my Nexus One today and now I need a new case to protect it. I'm ordering a BSE, screen protector only, because I hate when the corners start to peel. Now I just need a good case. I like hard cases, or a hybrid-type case. Currently I'm using a Speck Candy Shell for my iPhone. I wish they made cases for the N1. Any suggestions? Or links? Thanks!

Personally, besides the screen protector (phantom skinz), I run my N1 in its birthday suit. I use the OEM slip case in jeans, etc. and an el cheapo ebay holster for work. The N1 is too pretty to cover up IMHO. My wife had a clear hard case. It shattered to bits on its first real drop, but it did its job. She uses a clear silicon case now that we got at the local mall for 10 bucks.

I'm looking at the Sedio Innocase II, but am worried about the screen protector not fitting. Anybody know if it will fit with just a screen protector like a BSE or Zagg?

I don't remember which kinds of screen protectors I bought (I bought 2 kinds), but they both didn't fit with Sedio's Innocase 2. Just barely when you slide the case on, it causes at least once side of the screen protector to peel up because it gets underneath it. I imagine with some tinkering it might work, though.

I have the Innocase II and love it. And yes, it will cringe up and lift up most screen protectors...at least the one that fits the screen perfectly..which I would think are pretty much all:D

I simply remove a millimeter off on both sides of the screen protector and all is well. Just make sure you use a clean new quality blade and get a nice cut without making a 'ridge' or ruining the edges.

Even when you cut it perfectly, it might not work at first but with a little back and forth with your nail and it'll eventually stick and lay perfectly again.

How about dust protection? I have had this phone less than a week and already seeing dust creep in from the bottom. I have been using the included foam case whenever it is in in my pocket.

Well I personally have two Nexus Ones and I have not seen any dust under the screen, regardless, the Otterbox cases come with plugs for the headphone jack, USB port, etc.., to supposedly protect against dust. I used that foam case for at least a month before any decent cases came out but I never got dust under the screen.

I bought a Sena Ultra Slim which is so slim you have to use maximum effort to get it 1/4 of the way on the Nexus 1. I am returning it today. They cannot apply a credit against a Magnet Flipper so I would have to pay 18% tax on the full cost of the Flipper. Otter Box here i come.
