There are plenty of awesome cases for the Nexus S. It all depends on what you are looking for. You can get something that will protect your phone from throwing it across the room basically. (Trident Cyclops.) Amazon.com: Trident CY-GNXS-BK Cyclops Case for Google Nexus S (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories Or if you are looking for something thinner TPU cases are great, there are a ton of them with different designs so i would suggest searching around Amazon.

I have the Rearth Ringke case, and it seems to get the job done. A bunch of the longtime members got the case for free from the manufacturer a while back, and they all seemed pretty happy with it.
After using it for a few months now, I can say that it certainly holds up well. I was concerned that the sides would lose their springiness and the case would start slipping off easier, but so far, it's lasting just fine. Another concern was that it would collect dust and lint underneath it, but it hasn't really done that either.
As far as protection is concerned, none of the gel cases really provide THAT much impact protection, but it's definitely a lot better than one of those invisible skins. It'll protect great against scrapes and scratches though. If you're looking for real impact protection, you'll have to get something pretty beefy.

if you want ,you can use the original N1 pouch ,i use it for my NS ans it fits almost perfectly . there is a 3-4mm top part of the phone that is not covered ,but i don't mind ..plus it has the cool android logo 
if you go for this pouch ,you will have to give it 1-2 days for it to stretch a bit.

from my experience,cases for the i9020 don't fit well on the i9023.on paper the size of both devices is the same.. in reality not quite so.already tried 2 cases and both of them failed to fit on my i9023
