Help Nexus S ICS Headset issues

postkar

Lurker
Hey there,

I've been loving my Nexus S so far, but for one (tiny) issue. Ever since my ICS update, twisting (even lightly touching) my headphones pauses/plays the music. Before ICS, I had this nifty app "Headset Blocker" that would take care of that, but in ICS this doesn't work anymore. I've been scouring the internet for a solution for weeks now, but the issue seems very rare (which strikes me as odd, considering most people would use their phone as an mp3 player) and nobody found a solution yet.
Any help?

Regards,
Oskar.

Have you tried other headphones? This sounds like there is a short in your headphone line.

Inline buttons work using different resister values for each button so that each command has its own Ohm range. The Play/Pause button uses a "0" Ohm switch. The Back button uses 220 Ohms, and Forward uses 600 Ohms. A short in the line would act like 0 Ohms.

I've tried it with multiple headphones, and it definitely happens more with my AKG larger headphones than with my Panasonic in-ears. With audio-in cables to speaker sets the music pauses every time you touch it. I'm just looking for a way to disable the controls.
