Nexus S noob question

Hi all

I just got a nexus s to replace my galaxy s (which i had for 3 weeks, my wife wanted it and they had a good deal on nexus s so i got one).

I like the color menus under settings etc on the galaxy s, and they are all grey one the nexus s. can't figure out how to make them color. probably change a theme?

also the galaxy s had a great dropdown menu where you pull down for notifications. one touch buttons for wifi, bluetooth, gps, silent, and auto rotate. no such menu on the nexus s and its very annoying.

does anyone know how to get that pulldown menu and add color to menus?

as for the other stuff , there are widgets for it
