In fact, if the first comment is to be believed, Verizon is also blocked/holding up the 2.3 update for their N1 customers, so this is apparently not unique to Videotron (and thus, I'm guessing has nothing to do with socialism or communism).

I think the comment is wrong. Verizon doesn't have the Nexus One. Both models of the Nexus Ones are GMS/UMTS only. So none of the Nexus One phones will work on Verizon. The only Nexus phone that is CDMA will be the Nexus S 4G and will go to Sprint.

I'm afraid you're mistaken Roze. 2.3.4 is the most recent version, ans the update should be available for the Rogers model of the Nexus S.
