NFC - Does anyone have a use for it?

I've been trying to find uses for the NFC in my phone, but haven't been able to find any practical uses. I'm in the UK, so things like google wallet aren't here yet.

Does anyone know of any good uses for it?

Yep, I use it with NFC stickers and NFC Task Launcher.

For example, when I dock my phone with my golf trolley (yes I play golf, don't judge me), I've programmed the NFC Sticker to put my phone into Airplane mode and fire up the Golf scoring and GPS app.

My HTC phone would go in a car dock mode (big buttons etc.) when I'd put it in a HTC car dock on the car.

With a NFC tag in the car and a NFC launcher on the phone I'd choose a car dock app from Play Store and choose a car mount by Brodit, both I'd like better than HTC's ;)

when someone has an app or youtube video instead of searching just beam them. Put one on a key chain and Use it to activate to quickly silent mode

Do you have any none golf related uses though?

Yep, that was just an example I gave. I have a few other tags I use. I have a tag by my bed for turning the phone to airplane mode and then setting the alarm for work, etc, etc, shouldn't be hard for you to think up a few uses.

FYI: airplane mode doesn't currently work with NFC Task Launcher until Google fix their sh*t.

My question originated in part because I use Tasker, well I try to use it anyway. Tasker can be set up to do a lot of the things that NFC can do, but it happens automatically.

I like the idea of NFC, but none of the uses has floated my boat yet (though the car one is interesting)

I use NFC to share music with my friends wirelessly its pretty cool. Buy some tags and play around with it. My buddy uses it to promote his art one has a link to his website and another for twitter. If some has a cable phone the tap and get directed right there pretty cool. A company in RI has started making NFC business cards so its only a matter of time.

I use it for android beam, although haven't really been able to use the google wallet app since a lot of retailers here although they have the things for them, they never work

Right now I only use it for Google Wallet and for transferring things between my Nexus 4 and 7. However there are some awesome ideas in here that I'm gonna have to look into. I think I need to get some of these stickers/tags.
