Help NFC music transfer

schack

Lurker
So I caled Verizon tech support because I couldn't transfer songs using nfc. The commercials made it look so easy. So to get this long story shorter the tech told me verizon do3s not support music file transf er via nfc is this true?

Well the actual transfer happens with wifi direct when you use S-Beam from what I've read. NFC just allows you to sync up with the other device much faster.

But you still need to essentially pair the phones together so its not like just walking up to someone on the street and passing over music. Pictures, webpages, and alike you can transfer but music you need to connect wifi direct. I am not sure about videos that you record, but I nkow movies can be transfered with wifi direct only as well.

Well if you're using any combination of GS3 and Note 2 it'll pair them when they touch with NFC and use S-Beam which uses Wifi-Direct. I think you can send any file you want.

I had the Note 2 for 3 days before going back to iPhone.
NFC is a total gimmick, probably the only two people to use it are those
guys in the Samsung commercial. To be fair though, the iPhone 5 has a few
POS gimmicks: FaceTime-virtually worthless, as the image (when it does "work") is horrible. MMS: works at best 40% of the time when trying to send pics. I realize these
problems are most likely carrier related, then again it also demonstrates Apple as
well as Samsung is not immune from including features that don't really work well
in the real world.
