NFC Support?

Am I correct in understanding that the SGS2 does not contain NFC support? If it doesn't, it would shock the hell out of me considering how advanced this phone is attempting to be. Just hoping if someone could confirm or deny this.

thats right. i was also surprised coz the initial advertisements said it had NFC support.. but i think there was some fine script under that said 'on some devices' or something like that.. i think the next release of the SGS2 (not sure wat that is, really) will have NFC support and a 32gig model or something.. havent heard anything about it for a while. but yes, to ur question...the current SGS2 does NOT have NFC support.

Im a little confused here, as my GS2 is NFC ready, and uses the Zoompass app for merchant payments.

I think this is a region issue: I am on Virgin Mobile (Bell) in Canada, and Im pretty sure all the GS2's here are NFC ready, but the phone was only released in Canada at the end of July. The original handsets in the UK were not NFC ready, but I think most of the newly available ones are....any other comments?


ETA: seems I am wrong! Apparently Canada just has some mobile ecommerce agreement so this is a simulated NFC communication...apologies for the misinformation.
