That's my understanding as well. There is a lot of surrounding land there and it's quick access to the interstate. The new practice facility and staff headquarters is to be near Olathe Ks. as I understand. The Olathe Chiefs doesn't quite have the same ring as the KC Chiefs lol. I doubt there is a name change involved in the 20-25 mile migration. :) I won't miss driving through KC to get to the ballparks but the move isn't going to save me any time. It might even take a bit longer just because of the highways.
 
At least I wasn't ashamed of how the Chiefs played last night. I certainly didn't expect a win but was hoping for some level of trying. They didn't disappoint me and were in the game well into the fourth quarter. At least the game was somewhat entertaining considering the Chiefs had nothing to play for and the Broncos had everything to play for. Denver lacked a TD of covering the spread and had best step up their game in post season.
 
That was a pretty crazy game between the Rams at the Falcons last night. The Falcons jumped out to a big first half lead and the Rams worked their way back into the game the second half. It went right down to the wire with the Rams coming up short on their last drive. A controversial one handed catch was ruled incomplete that killed their chance of forcing overtime play. Falcons' Bijan Robinson had a record night with 195 yards rushing, 34 yards receiving, and 2 touchdowns.

That was a crazy game between the Steelers and the Ravens. It's always a hard nosed game between the two franchises being conference enemies. Tonight was no different. Both teams left it all on the field. I've never be a fan of the kicking game. I hate to see a hard fought game come down to kickers. Such pressure for a one play game changer seems unfair. Steelers kicker missed the point after their last TD that left a field goal from the Ravens to win the game. That kick was also missed. It could and should have ended in a tie in regulation and required OT to decide. Sadly, it was decided by two kickers who both failed to do their one play successfully.
 
I really thought that this would be the year that the Chargers didn't fall apart. I missed the game while flying back but the score indicates they were pretty much shut down. Too bad...
 
Speaking of being shut down... The Steelers gave their game with the Texans a serious effort for a short minute and then called it a season. With home field advantage and the turnovers going their way, they never were in the game. Being a Steeler fan I was embarrassed at how badly we were out classed. It certainly was a sad way to end the season and perhaps the last time we'll see Aaron Rodgers play.

I tip my hat to the Texans. They proved they have a shut-down defense. Their offense didn't look that great last night but the Steelers have a decent D. They say that defense wins games in the post season. I wish them luck moving forward.
 
I did not expect Tomlin to step away from his head coach position after losing last night. I guess the Rooney's were expecting more than another first week playoff loss out of their team. Considering how beat up the team was and having a 42 year old QB, I thought they did well to have another winning season. Perhaps it is time for a change. It's too bad that there aren't great coaches sitting and waiting for a franchise to call them.
 
It's been a strange football season this year, especially on the AFC side. If you had told me at the start of the season that 3 of the four AFC North teams would have head coaching openings and the Bengals weren't one of them, I'd have laughed you out of the room.
 
It's pretty much impossible to win on the road with four turnovers but the Bills gave it a decent shot. The Broncos won in overtime turning the last turnover into points. It was a fun game to watch. Watching the two teams, I'm satisfied Buffalo had the better team if they had taken care of the ball. I hope the next game is as good. I love good football.
 
As good as the game with Buffalo at Denver was, San Francisco at Seattle is not good so far. The Seahawks took the opening kick back for seven and it's been their game through the first half. They have the lead with a score of 24 to 6. With Kittle out, Seattle's only super player left is Christian McCaffrey who was getting attention from staff on the sidelines at the end of the first half.

I gave up on the game when it was 41 to 6 Seahawks. San Fran was destroyed and wasn't fun to watch. I switched over to watch some NCAA men's basketball.

The games today were fun enough to watch. The early game between the Texans and the Patriots belonged to the team that turned the ball over the least. Eight total turnovers and New England, with only three, won the honor to move on. The second game was a good game if you enjoy good defense. Both the Rams and the Bears hit hard and got a lot of stops. Neither team looked to be the better team and it went into over time to decide a winner. The Bears were driving with the next score winning the game when Caleb Williams threw the ball to a Rams defender which ultimately lead to a game winning field goal. Next week we get the conference deciding games.
The AFC will see New England Patriots going to Denver to play the Broncos and the NFC will see the LA Rams playing at the Seattle Seahawks. The winners will represent their conferences in the Superbowl!
 
Today is the big day for the Conference Championship games. The AFC conference game will have the New England Patriots facing the Denver Broncos at Empire Field at Mile High, Denver. The game will air on CBS and a number of streaming service at 3:00 PM Eastern with NE favored by 3.5 - 4.5 points. The NFC conference game will see the Los Angeles Rams facing the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, Seattle. The game will air on Fox Sports and streaming services at 6:30PM Eastern with Seattle favored by 2.5 points. Both games, according to the odds, are predicted to be close competitive games and should be fun to watch.
 
I was entertained by the games today. I thought Denver would win their game at home but the second half saw no additional scoring after the weather moved in and froze the show. New England Patriots will represent the AFC in the Superbowl. The NFC conference game was a high scoring affair and a fun watch. The Seattle Seahawks won the game and will Meet the Pats in the big dance.
