Help NFL Application??

I watched the game (or parts of it at least) on the mobile app last night. My only gripe about it was the "are you watching?" messages that popped up periodically.

I tried Score Center and was disappointed for ESPN. Kind of slow and clunky for me. I recommend SportsTap and even Live Scores. Both are great at pushing scores frequently, and setting up fave teams and score alerts.

SportsTap really failed me after 2.2, (which lead me to Live Scores) but it appears its been fixed.

I will be uninstalling NFL mobile after the $10 charge starts.

edit: it looks like I made it into the grandfathered free game streaming since it worked last week..

Its tempting, because I'm a Ravens fan in Detroit and I'd like to be able to watch Baltimore play. I have the TV Out cable and can watch it on my 47' LED TV. So $10/Month may not be so bad for me.

It's not about affording it. I can afford an additional $10 to my $100 bill. It's about principle. The NFL is not getting a dime of my money.

I downloaded it like 2 days after the "grandfather" rule so screw them.

It reminds me of the Ally commercials where new customers are treated better than old customers and they use little kids as examples (in this case it's the opposite).

If they are going to let some users have it free then let them all!

edit:

err after all that rant, turns out it actually works for free on my phone.

I know a couple people with APKs downloaded before then, so I will get it from them and see if it works.

I'll rarely need to watch an NFL game from my mobile however - but it would be nice for the 1 or 2 cases during the season.

I have NFL Mobile but I also have DirecTV super fan I can stream NFL Network with the verizon app and I get all the games on sunday with DirecTV app.

For Baseball I use MLB At Bat , I can listen to any game home or away streams it's fantasstic plus it has great layout and MLB Ticker Widget

I also was using ESPN Score Center but for whatever reason it stoped working the other day and instead of troubleshooting I just put my Sports TAP widget up again both are really good and keep things update neither uses a lot of battery and can give audible notifications

So see there are a ton of sport options, I have 3 sports related widgets on my screens at sometimes

NFL Mobile only streams NFL Network, Thursday Night games and Sunday night games the rest of the games you can get. If you have Sunday Ticket you get free mobile streaming

Watching NFL mobile WAS free if you downloaded the app before july 24th or something like that. But now if you want to watch the games and are just downloading it, you will have to subscribe to vcast.

you can always just watch games on espn3.com or other similar sites using your browser

I can't use ESPN3 on my laptop because we don't use a supported provider. However, Verizon obviously is on the list of supported providers.

When I try to watch ESPN3 on my phone, it asks for some sort of Verizon code. Any idea what this is or how I go about getting it?

I have MLB at Bat but can't see how to put a widget on my home screen. Any help bc it's not listed in my widgets. Thanks!

It should be there it's called "MLB.com At Bat 2010" so it's got a slightly diffrent name then under the application list where it's just called At Bat '10

There is ONE caveat to this....You can't change your #. I downloaded prior to the cut off date and VZ has a record of it BUT I had to change my cell # due to a problematic X who was calling me hundreds of times a day... from a variety of numbers so I lost it. I was on the phone with a VERY helpful VZ CSR who found the fine print on this. The Premium subscription is associated with your phone number, not the phone or account. The good news is that he could get my old # back. The bad news is I'd rather pay for Vcast than risk being cell stalked again.

I haven't changed my cell number in over 10 years. I highly doubt that this will be a problem to 99.9% of the people on this board. Just because it's a problem for you, that doesn't mean it's a problem for anyone else.

I still think it should be associated to the account not the number. I have only had 2 primary cell numbers in my life (cell phone user for 14years now lol) but still I think it's an extrmely lame way to go about it.

The Sports App that I use for NFL is NFL Sunday Ticket from DirectV. This allows me to watch all games from my phone live.

For player news and stats I use rotoworld.com. I have found that this site works great and is gives timely information.

Very strange..I don't have it as a widget, it's not listed at all. :(

Weird, I didn't even buy mine from the market I just got the apk and downloaded it. I already pay an insane amount of money to DirecTV for the MLB Package I wasn't going to pay for this lol

Maybe if you uninstall and reinstall it will show up

Hahahahahaa!!! That's EXACTLY how I got mine too. :p I thought maybe that was why I didn't have it...hmmmmm, i wonder.

Ok now I'm obsessing over it because I don't have the widget. I would find it the same way as every other widget, correct? (+sign, widget, and check the list?) What version do you have?

My app works flawlessly so now i'm wondering if I should delete and reinstall to see if the widget pops up...

I'm not happy with the NFL Mobile app at present. I want to listen to a game while I kick back with my Kindle app or just surf the web for porn. However when you press the home button, it doesn't keep playing in the background. The stream ends. The only way you can use the app to actually listen to an NFL game is if it's up in the foreground for the entire game and you can't use your phone for anything else. It's frustrating. I might as well have an iPhone pre-"multi-tasking".

I can understand NFL charging for streaming Live games, and the Redzone channel, but now I have to pay just to see the video highlights? Damn that's greedy.

Now the app is useless, unless I want to stream audio only.

This is something that Android sooooo lacks in, and that's good Sports Apps!!! What is everyone using for NFL and/or college? Apple kills Android in this market and it's so frustrating!

Thanks :)

How could you not find the NFL app? You search "NFL" and its the first one to come up.
