Now that I have come to know what's swapper and setcpu, I must ask why do I need them. I didn't use them on my stock rom and the game was working fine. I figured that using swapper is dangerous for my sd card...

That's not required at all. The problem is that nfs shift 1.0.4 doesn't work on GB, so here's the solution

APK FILE: "NEED_FOR_SPEED_Shift_v1.0.62.apk"

NSF SHIFT v1.0.62 SD Cache: "com.eamobile.nfsshift_na_wf"

Search with the names in the qoutes and download the files

put sd cache in "sdcard/Andoid/data/com.eamobile.nfsshift_na_wf"

and install apk file. Works on GB and MiniCM7_Pro

Many thanks! After weeks of toying around and not understanding that the key issue was NFS Shift does not work on Cyanogen 7 unless you follow Adeel47's instructions, I am loving NFS.

I am amazed at how smooth it runs. Thanks for taking the time to explain it in simple lingo!
