Help Niggly message problem

Since upgrading to Froyo when i get a text and have read the message and returned to the home screen it still shows as if i have a message. I have to go back into the messages and then back to the home screen for it to go away.

Bit of a pain in the arse to be honest, anyone any ideas?

Do you mean you still have the (1) on the icon? I got this on 2.1 as well, usually removing the shortcut then putting it back helped but clearing out my inbox solved it too.
