nitro getting ics july 31. we should be close behind.

i knew that the nitro hd would get it before us considering that it got the leaked first and it came out first. but i think that we should get it before summer ends. probably by the end of august.

I only see 2 things that may slow our update.. #1 big red is one of the worst carriersodor updates. and #2 the nitro is getting the update over the web. not just through ota.

I swear. this wait makes me feel like that fat kid that always chased the ice cream truck. and it drove a few extra blocks before stopping

hahahah

I say we get it by Christmas! lmao damn you big red for allowing everything to take so long and raising your prices to screw their customers over via their new data plans. (by the way I know you and lg poke your nose around in these forums so I hope you see this thread).

Grab your pitchforks and torches!!! WE SHALL MARCH ON VERIZON HEADQUARTERS!

just kidding homeland sercurity...it's a joke!

I save money on the new plan, plus get changed to unlimited talk (which I had anyway with GV). My family plan never came or comes close to data overage. ^_^

I can pull 9.45GB in a month, so the new plans are way out for me. Once every 3 or so months, I end up having to use my data plan to remote into my work computer while out of town, to cover a 12 hour on call shift for three days.

I do watch HBO go, Pandora, Google music, stream my dish shows through a sling adapter, and download files for our spectrum and then upload them to my website when I am not at home.

So, what is the definition of moderate use with your LG Spectrum? :p

I need to restrain myself with these plans, gosh 2GB is insane. Its like having only one cup of ice cold water on a triple digit day. I nearly used a quarter of the plan on the day I got my phone, sucks that I can't enjoy 15-25 mbps speeds whenever I want.

P.S. Your Evenless ROM is great so far. Just sayin'. Only one reboot, but that's cuz I insanely did stuff to it, you don't want to know lol.

I still have my unlimited LTE plan, but to be honest I don't know what to do with it. I tried seeding some torrents (in the middle of the night only, when towers are mostly unused and thus uncongested) but Verizon seems to throttle torrents.

I sometimes forget what the thread is about, and just reply to whatever someone else said... or something I thought of, while reading what they wrote.

I need to check the EvenLess builds to see if I removed the LG (or maybe it is Verizon) provisioning apk, as I think it is causing my wonky Wi-Fi tethering issues.

Considering the amount of space on our phone, the only real reason to use it (EvenLess), is if you don't use the default apps (LG email, music, video, web browser... well there are build prop changes too, and i removed all the system sounds, so you don't have to scroll through them when using custom sounds) as storage space is not an issue on our phone. I noticed with BP (never checked with the others) that the phone does apps to SD, even though it has enough space internally for all my apps x2.

(Attempting to add something slightly relevant to the thread...)

I've never messed around with ICS really, do I do not know if I can do the same for it. It will be good once we can root. I might not change anything, depending on what LG/Verizon gives us.

I have decided that unless it is severely lacking, my next phone will be the next nexus. Hopefully enough people will make that same choice, and the other handset manufacturers will learn to provide system updates in a more timely manor, or start to lose sales.

If you're using the stock hotspot app, then yes, it is. That app uses the provisioning app to see if you're set up for that service. I tested it on my wife's phone (we're on grandfathered plans so we don't have free hotspot).

That said, you guys might want to add the VZ hotspot app back to builds, now that it's free for the unlimited plans. No need to use 3rd party apps when you can use your service directly, IMO.

Where are you getting that info? The only info I could find was on the VZW forum and it says they still charge $30 a month for hotspot.

Everyone that's reported in the grandfathered data thread that have the 'everything' plans said they now have Hotspot access as a part of their plan. I think someone with a spectrum reported the same.

i just attempted to use the verizon hotspot.. ive got the 700minute plan with 2 phones and unlimited text/data.... wont work..

"you need to subscribe to mobile hotspot/mobile broadband connect from verizon wireless in order to use this service. requires a data plan/feature of $29.99 or higher." "subscribe for $30.00/month" "decline

I have the same plan and you're right. It does, however, work on the new 'share everything' plans. So when you upgrade (if you do), you'll get it free.

So far the nitro guys on the lg forums are only saying good things about Ics... The specifically said that they aren't running into any random reboots on the stock firmware. Sounds promising on the OS side of things at least, let's see what Verizon can do to screw it up!
