Help No 3G Internet

Lurker
I have run into a bit of an issue with 3G I cant connect to the internet. Wi Fi is fine connects no problems
So just to explain where I am, These are the procedures I have done to my LG Optimus One
I have updated the phone to the official release from LG now running Gingerbread 2.3.3 which seem to go well no issues for a couple of days then decided to root the phone, It had been running smooth for a week..
Next I installed Titanium backup did a full backup then tried to uninstall memo pad, I use colored notes..
Phone took forever then rebooted and decided to factory reset on its own , no biggy re-installed fresh all my stuff and it had been running fine apart from the 3G which I hadn't tested until the Sunday night
On Sunday I was out and tried to connect with 3G no luck thought it could just have been a bad reception area so when I got home I tried again connected fine searched a bit to test no issues thought it was fixed..
Last night out again no 3G connection tried again numerous times and nothing since.....The little H thingy does not come up in the notification bar.
I'm with Optus network, I have setup all the VPN info no luck.
So this leaves me not knowing if this a Phone problem or an Optus issue so any help would very much appreciated.

Thanks kindly for your reply, I have just done the factory data reset via the one in settings in the phone, is the same as "hard resetting the phone,"
Any way no luck still have no 3G internet......

try this type *#*#2636#*#* and select wcdma
if it still doesn't work switch to airplane mode and turn it off after 30sec....
check your apn settings also

Sorry did you mean for me to do this "type *#*#2636#*#*" in the phone dialer?
If so I did and no selection for wcdma came up, nothing happened...
Also tried the airplane mode no luck also my APN settings are as per OPTUS specs...
Shame I am having issues as the phone is working great other than this one thing.
thanks for your help

Try restarting your phone. If that doesn't work, ask your service provider to resend gprs/3g settings. Then restart and try again. If it still doesn't work, tell your service provider that you cant use 3g. One time, the 3g network in my area was down so I couldn't use 3g for 2 days. It could be a similar issue. IF you have any friends in the same network, ask them if they can use 3g. If nothing else works, take your phone to a service center.
