No 3G option with ICS?

Just wanted to know if I was missing something, but with ICS, I'm not seeing an option to use 3g only... is this right, or no? thanks!

I used this app on my HTC Thunderbolt but I do have a question about its use on the Razr. I don't recall if this happened on the T-Bolt or not...if I am running in CDMA auto (PRL) and at some point restart my Maxx, is it normal for the device to boot back up in LTE/CDMA/EvDo mode? I just want to make sure it's working properly on my device.

Yes, it is normal when you turn off the Razr Maxx the Maxx will default /go back to LTE/CDMA/EvDo.

I found that you can change back to 4G without going thru the app. Just use settings, more, network on the phone. Tap the LTE button and it switches back. Is there a reason we should use the app to go back if using settings works also? I have tried it several times and it always goes back to 4G and when I check in the LTE app its says LTE/CDMA/EvDo.

Maybe slightly off topic...but is there a "reason" no developer has made a LTE switch for the Maxx.

Unlike most of you, I find myself needing this type of switch to lock in 4G when I find myself in a fringe area (like 90% of the Ohio Turnpike)...

I'm using the LTE on/off app for the T'bolt...but it would be nice to have an app made for the Maxx (issues are bound to come sooner or later when using an app for another device)

Where would be a good place to ask some Devs about this?

Try this

open dialer
enter
*#*#4636#*#*
pick phone options
scroll down to just under "set preferred network type"
press the triangle in the right corner
pick CDMA auto(PRL)
back out with the back key

You should now have 3G only service. If you check under
System settings
Wireless & networks
more
Mobile networks
none of the options will be selected
There is no need to redo this on restart or reboot, it will remain in 3G. If you want 3G/4G again just pick LTE/CDMA under settings.

That works exactly like the LTE on/off app...when I select "phone information"...it opens the same screen as the app.

LOCKED ON 4G...yeeeehaaa!!!...now I can go back to watching my movie without all the interruptions.

Thank You...
