Does anyone know why my phone only works in 4g but when I switch to cdma it doesnt connect to 3g. I tried pulling battery, sim card, factory reset and still nothing. Its been like this all day today, 3g still works on my wife's phone. Im usually on 3g cause on 4g it eats up my battery.

1. I assume this is on a VZW G Nex? If so is it ok for me to move it to the VZW G Nex forum?
2. I had this same exact thing happen one day last week on my VZW G Nex. It was fine the next day. I contacted VZW support via twitter and that did no good. Anyways...did this just start today? Was it fine yesterday?
Like you i usually leave 4G off as well for battery reasons so not being able to connect to 3G really ticked me off.

Correct I have the vzw gnex. It just started this morning, im on 3g most of the time unless I need to access the internet on 4g for faster speeds. I switched from 3g for a bit then I switched back it and it happened I could not connect back. I have left it for hours on cdma an nothing still. I had the phone since day 1 without no major issues like this. Ill leave it overnight and see if it connects back if not ill be going to the verizon store for another phone.

I'd call VZW asap. Either your phone is provisioned wrong, towers and routing are wrong for re-authentication, or you are in a legacy market that needs an update or special handling.
Either way, VZW should be able to help you, but they want you to call from another line, not your cell line most cases.
