Help No 3g today?

My razr has been perfect since launch day, now today I have to use 4g because 3g won't work. Tried airplane mode, reboot, nothing helps and I have double checked all settings. Anyone else experiencing this?

I had to reboot my phone earlier. Since I powered it back up, I can't get any sort of data connection over the cell towers. Texting seems to be working fine, but can't pull Engadget or Facebook etc. My signal bars are white with no 3G/1X/4G out beside them.

Mine doesn't show anything but the phone signal bars when in cdma only mode. But I can get 4g, but if I do cdma only I get nothing.

I've tried switching between the two and nothing works. Unfortunately, I don't live in a 4G area, so I'm kinda screwed at the moment...

I'm in the same boat (new Razr). My co-worker's iPhone is picking up 3G just fine. I powered on/off a couple times, re-seated the sim, and just did a hard reset. I spoke with Verizon and a techie said there's a national 4G outage that may affect 4g phones. I don't get how it would affect the Razr when I switch network to CDMA only. They're supposed to call after the outage is taken care of to see if my phone works then. If it's a phone issue, I'm returning the Razr... phones have to work more than 5 days in my book.

It's really annoying I have to re-configure the phone after that hard reset only to find out I'm not the only one having the issue. :o

4g outage? I can only get 4g!! I hate Verizon customer service!

Yep, no 3G. 4G was fine. I am in the North Texas area (north of Dallas). I was thinking it was just me... Luckily I have WiFi at home since there's no 4G where I live.

Just curious if you all are still missing 3g (been down almost 8 hours for me). Is this affecting everyone with Razr?

Still down per VZ, went down around lunchtime.

Random 4G devices in 3G only areas do not have data.

There's also a 4G outage in what was described as the TX/Gulf Coast area.

NO ETA, but they are working on it. I called again about 15 mins ago.

You can still txt and call if you are affected by this. I though I lost my radio on my charge after lunch, then stopped by a VZ store and they mentioned it.

Just sit tight if you are affected, they are working on it.... and we were supposed to get 4G here in Little Rock tomorrow. Let's hope for the best :)

quick way to check...

settings... about phone....status....

phone number should be present with a signal strength indicated, In Service.

"Mobile network state" will say "disconnected".

Sorry, I don't have a RAZR but should be the same, just sharing the info from VZ about the outage.

There is currently no way for VZ to identify if you are specifically affected, other than the no data problem and probably region you are in.

FWIW, I just left my local Verizon store around 5:30pm, in the Balt./DC corridor, and all the LTE devices had the 4G icon active. I was checking out the RAZR, as I may get the GSM variant, and when I pulled out the micro-sim, all cellular connections dropped. With the phone still powered on, I put the SIM back in, and th 3G CDMA connection came back, per system status. The 4G LTE icon never came back, and the phone was set to auto select between CDMA/LTE. I belive all the other 3G devices were active on 3G.

I know this guy!

If you remove the sim from the phone, you typically have to reboot it or any connection coming back is not guaranteed.

Long time, for sure.

Yeah I thought the SIM was gonna be from Vodafone, for international roaming, like the DGlobal/Pro. But realized that wasn't the case since the only choices for Network selection were CDMA or LTE. No sense waiting around at that point to see if 4G will come back after reboot . ;). I'd have to get the xt910 if I want it to work on AT&T.

I just got off the phone with VERIZON tier 3 technical Support and they said there was a complete 4 g outage that was sill ongoing. He also admitted that the razr and the bionic both have signal issues that Verizon and Motorola were working on. I lost all data for the entire day until a few minutes ago.
He also stated that there were several angry Razr owners that were told the same. I told him I expect this to be fixed asap I was going to return my razr and refuse to pay a restocking fee and he agreed!
If there isn't a fix in a few days the Razr is going back I don't trust Motorola to come up with a fix within the 14 day return period.

LOL at least this didn't come out on ATT, you'd be preaching that EVERY-SINGLE-DAY LOL

Major roll out and upgrades are happening tonight and tomorrow, new AND EXISTING MARKETS. VZ is cutting edge 4G LTE. I'd say suck it up, ask for a small credit, and when it's done in 24 hours, you'll bring your O-FACE and go OMG OMG OMG!

:D:D

My 3g is back as well.

Yup, appears that the TX/gulf/AR problems have been fixed, including mine.

Presumption is that they implemented the new code and backhauls for the announced upgrades and new markets for the 17th.

Hang in there everyone, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

I understand the new market rollouts and the outage BUT for the Razr to have the same issue that is known on the Bionic is unacceptable IMO. I can't keep data unless I am on wifi . I was also told it was not affecting every device both bionic and razr and this is what Motorola is trying to figure out.
