Help No 411?

Hello everyone. I've been reading the android forums for awhile now, however I'm new at posting here.

Yesterday I tried to call 411 (information) from my phone and I don't have 411. I have the Huawei Ascend with cricket service and I thought that the plan was supposed to include 411. Does anyone know if we are supposed to have 411 or not. Trying to avoid calling them since talking to their customer service is like talking to a brick wall.

1-800-GOOG-411

"Back in 2007 we launched 1-800-GOOG-411, a voice-powered directory assistance service that connects you quickly to businesses across the U.S. and Canada. On November 12, 2010, we shut down the service."

it suckes because i use to use goog411 like a few times a week.!

Try GOOG-411. It's amazing and it's free.

This WAS really good, but I'm pretty sure Google discontinued it. I just tried 1-800-GOOG-411 and 1-888 . the 800-411, which is what is was is disconnected.

I used it when it 1st came out, saw an online video ad, and it was really good, but I think they just didn't get enough traffic to support it.

??? Maybe I'm making a mistake. But, I'm about 95+% sure it's gone...

Oh well....gotta find a new one.

Also, yea my old Cricket plan had UNLIMITED 411, when I switched to the "smartphone plan", I get NONE, they used to give you 3/mo on most plans, now nothing...ugh.
Well, I havn't tried droid411, but that's my next stop.
Take care...Jeff

Hey Kolio....Thanks for the tip....tossed ya a "Thanks"...

The only issue is that it's only business listings, etc. BUT it seems like it has other good features, traffic, etc. Just wonder if any are around with white page listings too..
Thank you though, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful, that solved the largest %age of my 411 Calls, white page ones are much more rare. So it's not of huge importance.
Plus I saw somebody talking about that droid411 app, says it uses a few of the services, had google listed, so obviously not updated in a while.

Anyway...THANKS....Jeff

I used it from time to time as well and I think it's pretty lousy of them to abandon it to devote the resources to Android. Not everyone has an Android and even those of us who do aren't going to want to try texting or whatever to find a phone number while driving. Have they offered an alternative or just some Android app that you really shouldn't be trying to use while driving?
