When is Evo4g going to be supported/working? I still cannot access 4G on my evo & I recently tested out a thunderbolt & it had 4g full working on it...
Umm it depends on where you live. Both Sprint and Verizon have lists of current 4g cities on their websites. I see from another one of your posts you live in New Orleans as do I. We have a very small area with Sprint 4g turned on. It is not official and it is not a very big area (Essentially just Garden District, Warehouse District, and parts of the French Quarter) but hopefully more will get turned on soon. I get 4g in my apartment. Verizon has full LTE support here though. Actualy if you want to see where in Louisiana unofficial 4g is go to CLEAR | 4G WiMAX Internet Coverage Map with Service Area. and manually zoom into New Orleans you will see the areas that have limited coverage.
That sux...Considering this phone has been out for a long time without 4G service..I live in the Metairie area & the map shows no 4g here... Sux that the thunderbolt just came out & had 4g...Its not really fair for sprint to charge 10$ extra for the 4g when it cant even be used..Are you using any roms sik?
If you don't want to pay the money don't buy the phone. Takes time to roll out new equipment especially since Sprint may move to LTE. If the FCC makes it so that you can roam for free on LTE then we won't hear any more complaints. That agreement will happen years from now. I'm glad Verizon has LTE and its faster than WiMax but they don't have a lot of people using their 4G right now. Their network will slow down but I'm happy for them. I will switch to Verizon if I have to move to an area with no Sprint coverage.
If sprint goes to lte what will EVO owners do then? Im sorry but they should have 4g up much faster than this...the phone has been out for a while now..
Some people had the dumb impression they would get rid of their home internet and use the EVO as a hotspot. Why, I don't know. Everyone uses WiFi and their is WiFi in most of the stores I visit. Don't really need 4G. I use it if I want to download something in my truck.
