No Android in my future

Wow, I feel like I have been cut to pieces, skewered, roasted and hung out to dry...
As to why I didn’t ask for a help, I have been researching this forum and others, as well as the help area of Google’s site for several months (I joined this forum in September). BTW if you do a search for Outlook on this forum, there are over 15 pages, not posts, but pages of threads. Believe me, I've read every one of them. I did not find an answer to syncing Outlook 2010, 64 bit with an Android, and as mentioned in my original post, the work arounds seem to be hit or miss. In my opinion, to ask the question about syncing would have been redundant. And to ask the question without first trying to find the answer already posted on the forum would have been rude and presumptuous.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't think anyone meant to insult. I personally apologize if you were offended by my comment. In the future, I don't think anyone would be upset if you asked a question that was asked 15 pages ago =) I hope you enjoy your purchase of the iPad and that you stick around and talk to us! Hopefully any further questions you have can be answered by the people here =)

I just wrote a paper for college called Why You Should Choose Android Over Apple. OP would you like to read it? It clearly states why Android is far better than Steve Jobs, Apple, and the iPhone.

LOL I would actually like to read this as well :D

Way to make a new member feel welcome....

The lack (perceived or otherwise) of Outlook sync is obviously important to the OP. Instead of coming on all self-righteous, defensive and/or downright rude, some constructive guidance would be much more welcoming. Who knows, it might even bring about a conversion to the Android family.

Much like you did, right. You jumped right in there to help, good job Mod. Way to lead by example.

One of the best moments of my life was when I stopped using Outlook! I've spent way too much time wrestling that @#$% program and the @#$% sync software that works with it. A prime example of over complication.

Yeah for sure. I find it funny thunderbird knocks the socks off outlook... and it's free lol..

I have been lurking for some time now trying to make the right decision regarding upgrading to a new smart phone. I’m not an IT guy; in fact, I am pretty much of a neophyte when it comes to technology. So my main requirement is for my phone to sync with Outlook - my outlook, not some corporate exchange.

The flaw is not Android but Outlook. Evolve away from it. The people I migrated away from Outlook to GMail and other cloud based email services have all been happier.

"Better" is always subjective.

Your paper clearly states "why you think Android is far better than Steve Jobs, Apple, and the iPhone". This isn't a one-size-fits-all world. There are those for whom the iPhone is a better fit.

...and I hope you realize that comparing Android to Steve Jobs isn't an appropriate comparison. :D

Not only my opinion. I have sources :)
