You owe it to yourself to try Verizons 4G LTE service. If your contract is up or coming up and you are in an LTE area just DO IT before Verizons unlimited data plan goes away and its going to go soon. This is the best and fastest network bar none. I have the Thunderbolt in about a week there will be a new Samsung handset(charge) and in a month a new dual core Motorola handset. This network is amazing and it costs no more than what I was paying lousy Sprint for lousy service. Just a heads up folks give it a try. You wont be sorry.

Really it the same price?

What package did you have for Sprint? And what did you get with Verizon?

It was going to switch to verizon because of the $10 extra charge per line and even with the extra $20 a month Sprint was cheaper for me.

Sprint is $145mo for 3 phones

Verizon was going to be $175 for a comparable plan with 2 phones.

I would go with Verizon LTE in a heartbeat though if I could use it for my home internet too.

Then I cold save $125 from Comshaft.

Comparable plan for me is like $30/mo more!

BTW, how long have you had Verizon? How many monthly bills have had incorrect charges?

Iv always thought Verizon was way better then sprint.
But the thing with sprint is that is WAY cheaper. About $30+ cheaper/month.
Unless theres some cheap plan idk about?
Id love to go with verizon, but im kinda in the hype for the evo3D....

Ditto. I can't justify the extra cost just so I can have a cellphone for work to get a hold of me at crazy hours of the AM.

I have unlimited everything except for text. text I have 500 included. No extra $10 4G fee.

My single line is about $10 less than it was with Sprint. only thing I dont have is unlimited texting I have 500 included and I use half of that maybe. Everything else is unlimited. The 4G service is SUPERB. Anyway you get what you pay for. I have never used a better wireless 4G network ever. Nothing is even close IMO.

Verizon
Unlimited Talk $70
500 Texts/mo/line $10
Unlimited Data $30

So that's $110 for a single line.

Sprint
Simply Everything plan, unlimited EVERYTHING $100
Premium data fee $10

So that's still $110 for a single line.

If that was the case, I'd probably switch to Verizon, too. Their service is superior. Too bad their customer service leaves so much to be desired.

For me, I don't need unlimited talk. I use the 450 minute Everything Data with Any Mobile, Any Time, and I come nowhere near my minutes because most calls are to mobile phones. It's $70 plus $10 for premium data.

I would have to get the 900 minute Talk and Text to make up for the free calls to other mobile phones thru sprint, for $80. Then add $30 for data.

So, for me, it would be $30/mo more not including whatever BS charges they tried to add and I have to fight with them to get them removed..

Agreed, and my company discount is better with Sprint. You should check if you qualify. I haven't worked anywhere that doesn't. They also take forever to verify if you've left that job.

Oh, I don't doubt it. I used a friend's TB and was impressed (verizon 4g in the area but not sprint 4g).

I can't justify the cost though. My wife and I pay something like 130 on Sprint though....

:)

I have used AT&T, TMOB, Verizon and Sprint..... Here where I live they are all okay but my Sprint service actually covers more area than the others.

So I will stay with Sprint. Others are following suit with the 10.00 charge.

I travel all over the country and have a verizon blackberry and my Epic. Its an absolute myth that Verizon service and coverage is better.....in fact.....more times than not....my coverage is better with my Sprint Epic than it is with my blackberry

Looking at the plans.....there is no comparison either from a cost standpoint especially with sprints unlimited mobile to mobile and data plans from Verizon are 30 a month

As far as the only 4G phone Verizon has ...the thunderbolt......read the review...it has had nothing but problems and the Epic blows this thing out of the water

The Sprint 4g network is more advanced, has better phones, has better pricing and in my opinion......for me at least, better coverage

Truly is no comparison

Sprint 4g coverage blows. You have to be smack dab in the middle of the city to get it.

Sure does, I live right smack in the middle of there so called 4G map should get the best signal but I got NOTHING! tired of paying that $10 data fee for 3G service. So far all I get at home now is a 4G signal from Verizon. :D

i dont get the big hassle of the 10 dollar charge... i had switched from tmobile to sprint, i was paying 79.99 a month for 1500 mins unl data and unl txt... now im on sprint.. i pay 79.99 and i get 450 mins, unl cell calls, unl txt and unl data... its no different then if they had just added 10 bucks onto their plans

My brother has the iphone and they charge an extra 10 for his too... So what's the big deal? One shows it as a seperate charge the others don't...........
If you don't like Sprint. Switch Back....

I live on the outskirts (burbs) of Chicago, and have 4G, but rarely use it. Really only if I'm downloading something of decent size. As for Verizon's 4G network...all I'm saying is just wait. Wait until it has the same amount of use going over it Sprint's does. Then see if the speeds are still comparable.

I'm not saying they won't be, but using something that is completely untapped and trying to compare it to something that has already been around a bit doesn't seem like an apples to apples comparison.

Well thats a great deal and even better if you can manage to get a 4G signal out of them. I wasn't able too sorry to say. My main reason for this thread was just to give everyone a heads up on how good there LTE network is and right now if you secure an unlimited plan you will be able to keep it forever. Rumor is in a month or so unlimited data is going to vanish for a tiered plan system that will be more costly.

Every phone provider has less or better reception in certain places. You can't say because your phone provider has a bad signal, that its bad for everyone else. I've had service from every phone provider. Some work at my job and some don't. One provider dropped signals at my home but great at work. Some drop signal when I travel this one road and back. While another provider does great on the same road. Having said that, its what's best for you and not everyone else. Same goes for data connection. Some are great in the city, while others are great in the country. Again, its whatever works for you. My 4G from Sprint is awesome. I can stream all day without a glitch. Adding "lite" to 4G will attract some, while some other provider will call theirs 4G "lighter" and everyone will run back.

Again, gotta wait until Verizon actually gets the same number of devices on its network. Right now, there is almost no load.

Why would I pay more than I am now for a more limited plan???

Trust me, My fiance and I were with Verizon for about a year. We were paying $210 a month for 1400 minutes with 5 favorite numbers being free, unlimited text, and unlimited data.

We left VZW for Sprint 2 months ago. We now get UNLIMITED EVERYTHING for only $130 a month for BOTH lines!

Oh, and btw, Sprint roams on Big Red anyways so back to my original question. Why the hell would I pay MORE for the same service and when it is more limited when I can have the SAME exact service on Sprint for UNLIMITED everything for $80 less a month?

Had Verizon for over a year when I had my BB Storm. Loved the coverage, hated the Customer Service. Always had a problem with my bill every month and was constantly fighting with CSR's to get bogus charges dropped. You can have them. I'll stick with Sprint and get 3 bars instead of 6.

i live in columbus ohio... i have great 4g coverage in town, i have great coverage with voice, etc. the customer service has been awesome to me... and its cheaper than verizon. why go through the hassle and extra expense of switching to verizon?

Silent, most people here are pretty savvy when it comes to what they have, and what they had. Sprint is no better or worse that the rest. They work well where we live, and it works well when we travel, 4g works well in metropolitan ares and doesn't work in the boonies. I do appreciate you pointing out all the angles, (good business) however when in Rome do as the Romans do, Were Epic, were Sprint and this is are hang out, so what if were nuts, LOL
