Help No Calendar

I've got a Wildfire on T-Mobile and received the 2.2 update last week. When going through the installation process I did get an error message telling me that the application "process com.android.syncml.serve" had unexpectly stopped but all seemed to be fine with the phone and its been working okay. However, today when trying to put a new event in my calendar I am being told that I have no calendar.

Does anyone have any ideas what might have happened and more importantly how I can get my calendar back?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums, Gordon.

Sometimes app issues following an update can be remedied with a few reboots of the device.

Give that a try, and if no joy, then it may be a good idea to either download a calendar app from Market, or take the device in to have the update reinstalled by a tech (or call support and tell them the problem, in which case they may push the update to your phone again).

Thanks for the advice.

Rebooting didn't seem to work.

I've now spoken to T-Mobile Customer Support who told me its an HTC issue and to speak to them - so I did. The advice from HTC was to do a factory reset but I wouldn't need to have the update sent through again as the update would be retained regardless of the reset. Does that sound right?

I probably need to back up my contacts anyway so a reset might be a good way of getting me to do that!

Yes I did a factory reset not long after updating to 2.2 and it was still 2.2 after the reset. AFAIK factory reset does not touch the SD card or the Firmware. But you do lose all market apps, icluding any you have moved to SD card.

Thanks for the help guys.

Factory reset seemed to do the trick. Calendar is back working and the 2.2 update is still there. Lost a few contacts along the way but that was more to do with me than the phone!!
