no chance of octa-core version for Verizon?

hi guys !

News from some Korean source confirmed HMP solution will be available in Q4 of 2013.
With HMP, I suspect the octa core version could be so much better than Snap 800.
Is there any chance octa-version will be released for Verizon?

Yankies, I would expect that most of the first generation stock for all carriers has long been manufactured, flashed, boxed, shipped, and is sitting in various distribution centers right now. It is highly doubtful that any of them will have a new chipset in them, simply because a new chipset was introduced.

Keep in mind that a processor isn't plug-and-play: the whole phone's hardware has to be designed around it. So if you're aching for an octa-core phone, you might want to put your purchase on the back burner for another year so that this new processor has time to go into the production pipeline.

:)

Given that none of the US carriers carried the octa-core version of the S4, I would make a strong guess that none will carry that version of the Note 3. Samsung doesn't produce these chips at a rate to keep up with demand, so they're using a very good chip from a company that can keep up with demand. Plus the Snapdragon 800 will be a better chip for AOSP development for those who like to flash custom roms.

A few years ago, Samsung's Exynos dual in SGS2 was the top performing mobile AP with pretty wide margin from S3 snapdragon chips across the benchmarks. But this all changed when Qualcomm brought much improved Krait core based S4 line of chips last year and they also integrated LTE world modem into it. Now there is practically no difference between latest Exynos and Snapdragon chips in terms of real world usage.

And TI OMAP and Nvidia Tegra are almost gone from mobile processors now and I miss those times. So it's only Exynos vs Snapdragon these days. But Samsung has had some major technical setbacks with Exynos 5 octa this year (overheat, production, etc), let alone the criticism that it's not true octa processor.

Samsung Exynos 5 Octa CPU to have use of all 8 cores at one time starting in Q4

This is interesting news and seems like good move for Exynos. But it's not clear if existing 5410(S4), 5420(Note 3) can be turned into HMP via software updates or it will only come with upcoming processors. Either way, chances of getting this processor in US version of Note 3 is slim to none I think.
