Help No Charge

I have had my GN3 since December. Very seldom does it ever die. I keep it charged. I try to give it a restart once a day or once every two days.

The passed couple of days I have noticed that when I take my phone off the charger to go to work or anywhere that is not fully charged.

When i plug it in it acts like it isn't getting a good connection with the USB cord. If the cord moves or the phone moves it is like your pulling the plug out of the wall.

I have noticed a message come across my notification bar saying ==for the best charge use original cord ===

One thing I have already tried is making sure that the port where the USB goes I tried to make sure that there is no build up or funk in there!

I have notices with all my past android devices I have had this issue. But it has happened when I've had the phone for some time not a couple of months

Any ideas on what I could do to fix this???

It's still under warranty, so bring it in. They''ll probably give you a refurb. The microUSB port is about the worst connector in the industry they could have chosen as the universal cellphone connector. (Then again, field-sequential color TV is much better than dot-sequential and they picked wrong there too. Armstrong strereo - wrong choice again. When there's a choice, humans almost invariably make the worst one. It's almost as if we're programmed to. Progress comes only from mistakes.)

So go to my local 'real' Verizon store and tell them what's going on? And they should supply me refurbished GN3? what I'm experiencing---- is it a known issue?? I always hate getting refurbished equipment... Considering that I spent the money for a new one only to have to take it back and get a used one....

I've had an S3, Note 2 and Note 3 and I've never seen the message you mentioned. Also it's strange that you say you've had this issue with all your previous Android devices.
I use a 3rd party charger at work every day and I've never had this issue.
Is there a common factor involved, like you're always using the same charger, same powerboard etc.?

Went to Verizon store today and had my phone looked at. They determined that it was the charger causing the issue. She said the cause of the USB cord not working properly was probably caused by me. Keeping it plugged in while the same playing a game or browsing etc...

So she ordered me a new one free of charge. I asked the question of just using a universal charger she said said I could but using the provided N3 offers more?

What exactly can that USB cord do that I don't know about (4 GN3)

@PAUL7876. For all of my past Android devices after about a year or so I've had to get a new charger cause the stock one would no longer work. But from what I've learned today is that when charging to leave my phone alone.

Also thinking about rooting,?? Good idea? Yea .... Nah?

Fair enough, but I am still confused because I still use my phone quite a bit while I'm charging and haven't had any issues.

As for the rooting, was is it you're looking to do? I've rooted all my devices mainly for ad-blockers and Titanium Backup but I also use a lot of Xposed modules and have tried custom roms.

The Galaxy Note 3 USB cable is USB 3, which basically means faster data speeds over a USB 3 connection, its ok as long as the thing you are connected to is USB 3 rated also, otherwise it will be of no extra use.
I updated my PC recently so I do have 3 x USB 3 ports to use with my Note 3, its not a big deal to be honest but it all helps ☺
