Help No Command

shazure

Lurker
Hola! My android version is 4.4, a Starmobile Up Lite. The trouble was triggered when I downloaded a wireless system update. When I updated and somehow rebooting, it suddenly prompts "no command". I tried to be in a recovery mode and reboot but it always goes back to recovery screen as it is with the same menu:

Reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from sdcard
apply update from cache
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
backup user data
restore user data

I tried wipe cache partition then reboot, nothing happens. I restore user data, it did a system update for a while then goes back to no command. Then I tried wipe data, factory reset and reboot, but it always always goes back to this recovery screen. please anyone?

What was this "wireless system update", and where did you get it?
Are you sure it was specifically for your phone?
If you flashed software for another phone, you will probably need
to locate the factory ROM and flash it with whatever tools the manufacturer supplies.

Hmm, that would have been the most obvious reason--i.e., taking an OTA whilst rooted :(.

So, just to be clear a "wireless system update" was an over-the-air (OTA) update (i.e., you were prompted to install a system update of some kind)?

I'm not at all familiar with your device, I'm afraid...hopefully someone else might have an idea what else to try...

I assumed that was harmless because it appears to be from the manufacturer itself. Anyway, thanks for the idea.

It is still unclear what you downloaded and where you got it from.
"downloaded a wireless system update" suggests you downloaded it from some web site.
Is this the case, or was this an Over The Air update from the phones "System updates" menu in settings?

Well yeah, that wasnt an OTA but it notified as a wireless system update. it's quite awhile popping up actually and I just ignored it. However, ive been desperate these last few days to remove somekinda malware that I suspected on the ROM so I tried the update hoping any change. Anyway, thanks for taking time. I did some research from my device' forum.

I updated it from the phone's menu in settings, not from a website.

Sure whatever happens now, you're going to have to re-flash it with a factory ROM. Unfortunately there's nothing on Starmobile's website, and apparently they're only contactable via Facebook or Instagram.

They're probably imported Chinese phones, from unknown manufacturers.

Good luck!
