Root No data connection when away from wifi

Verizon HTC Thunderbolt with Liquid Gingersense v2.1(gift from nephew, I am an adroid newbie)

Away from wifi I get a no connection or network error.:mad:

I had Green Power for a few weeks. Uninstalled and put Juice Defender on. Same prob.
I have JD not enabled at the moment, wifi turned off, I have mobile network turned on in settings.
Still no connection network error.


Phone Info
Signal strength -120dBm
Mobile network type - CDMA - eHRPD
Service area - in service


What other setting should I look for?

I moved this the the TB root forums, I think you should get the best help here ;)

I would suggest under network setting make sure mobile data is enabled. Also for the network type try "CDMA + LTE auto" or the setting that looks like that, if it is still a no go for you try putting it on 3G only mode should be something about CDMA only IIRC.

Hopefully that will resolve the issue. If that doesn't it could be the radios are not compatible with the rom but that is a pretty easy fix...Have you ever had this phone working on the mobile network?

Yes, the phone has worked flawless since xmas. I just started noticing data would not come back after I left my wifi area. That is when I uninstalled Green Power

Thank you your info. I have no battery management tools active now. I did several re-boots last night and on the way to work today, away from my wifi I saw 3G activity about the time I got an email alert. I will run it today w/o any type of battery saver app and see how it does when I move away from work wifi at lunch. See if it automatically switches over. Thank you for your patience.
 
Every thing seems to be working now with JD as opposed to Green Power. GP would not release the wifi and activate the G3/4.
Now is goes to mobile data 10 sec after I leave the wifi range.
