Help no display pictures on texts or contact history

I recently upgraded from the LG Optimus to the Samsung Admire. My Optimus had 2.2 and Admire has 2.3. Since upgrading, I've noticed a few features missing. It doesn't show display pictures in texts or when I call someone. Also there is no history option for contacts. Is there a way to get these features? They were all on my Optimus and both phones were from MetroPcs..

I used SyncMyPix from the Market to add the Facebook profile pictures of my contacts to their contact photo. It now shows the picture in a text thread or when they call.
If you have taken pictures of your contacts, you can go to Edit Contact and tap on the Contact Icon to change the photo and select one from your Gallery.

As for history, when I go to Messaging it shows everyone I've texted (with their picture) and the date/time of last text.
You can go to the Call Log to see the history of who called and when, whether the call was made, received, missed, etc.

When I had my LG Optimus and 2.2 OS. I could click on a contact in the contact list and there would be a tab for history. It would show text and calls placed and received between me and that contact. It would also show their facebook picture in the messaging thread if I had them synced. It doesn't do either on this version...
