No dual core

I'm very disappointed as well ... thought for sure it was going to... may have to go with the Motorola Droid Bionic now... :(

Wth u talking about? 0.o. there is dual core on this phone. Check the phandroid news. Lg said there was dual core. This is the Verizon version of Optimus 2X

Pretty sure it says nothing about having a dual core. Maybe actually read the whole thing and you would see it says there is no confirmation anywhere it will have dual core. smh

What about the LG Black. Wasn't that a device that was supposed to be announced for Verizon? Perhaps I am confused and the Revolution is the same as the Black?

If this had a dual core, LG would have pointed it out in the features- EXACTLY like they did with the Opt 2 that Tmo is getting. Funny how VZW joined Nvidia talking about how great Tegra 2 is at CES, but DO NOT APPEAR TO HAVE A TEGRA 2 PHONE!!!! How stupid would that be? Very.

....... Maybe some of us are wrong? Phonescoop shows 2200 Quadrant scores, which are Tegra 2 level......

Guess what? I read it like 5 times. Says it will have Nvidia's dual core chip. =.= y dont u read the whole thing next time?

I'm confident that this will have the tegra2

specs haven't been announced officially yet and AC is just speculating with the rest of us.

Unless this is some new super-duper clocked single core (bad for battery and heat if so- even at 45nm), the 2200 quadrant scores are not likely unless a dual core.

Phonescoop needs to fess up! ;)

Actually, LG does.

this is the last bit of info i need to know pretty much, if this is dual core im getting it, otherwise its a 1 year contract for the thunderbolt i think.

Bionic has the Tegra 2 and probably one of the greatest cheesey names ever! :)

I suspect this device has the Tegra as well, due to the 2200 Qaudrant scores that Phonescoop showed. Either that or the device they were using had a Tegra 2 and the final product will not? That would be odd.

None the less, if that is a single core running those 2200 scores, the battery life must be measured in minutes, rather than hours ;)

Makes more sense it is a Tegra 2, since volume discounts would be better for LG and more common firmware and production standards.

I think Revolution has 2nd gen snapdragon 1Ghz, the same one as Thunderbolt has. But I love to be wrong and it indeed has Tegra 2.
I personally don't think it's that big deal until 3.0 honeycomb comes to the phones later this year. Android 2.2, 2.3 won't fully utilize the dual core power. Revolution has nice features like DLNA, HDMI out, L2000 chip that improves 3G speed in addition to 4G LTE.

Honeycomb won't be coming to the phones, it was built specifically for tablets. The thing is, I would rather not buy a single core phone now and have to buy a dual core when an optimized OS or software release is brought in. I can guarantee the next Android update will come by Q3, which is too close to be buying yet another phone, especially since the upgrade options just got gimped in Verizon. I'd rather have the hardware ready and wait for it to be patched with software. Plus I like bragging rights.

Point still remains that Phonescoop showed 2200 plus Quadrant scores and no single core legitimately pulls this off unless perhaps insanely and dangerously overclocked.

Either the Rev is a Tegra 2, the scores a mistake, or a prototype that lamely has a Tegra 2 and will be replaced by a slower chip for production.

Makes far more sense the scores are correct and it is a Tegra 2, since LG would be able to get a greater lot size discount from Nvidia and simplify both core production / firmware design for several devices.

That is the best move for business purposes.

I looked all over for this supposed post that shows 2200 Quadrant scores for the Revolution, but can't find it. Have you got a link?

Oh, I see. I had actually read that whole article, but didn't notice that the quadrant score was in the the screenshots. Thanks!

With that said, hopefully it does indeed have the tegra 2, as I'd like to have more dual core options on verizon than just the Bionic. I have a feeling, though, that the demo version was rocking the tegra 2 but the consumer version will not. Just seems really odd that they wouldn't hype the dual core aspect of it otherwise.

Well, Google said that Honeycomb will run on the phones as well as tablets. There is no reason that honeycomb won't be coming to the high end phones. Both Samsung and Qualcomm are readying their versions of dual core processors in the middle or second half of the year, which is in line with honeycomb or later android version coming to the phones.

The Motorola Atrix and Droid Bionic are Tegra 2 and the Atrix Quadrant scores are around 2600.... you think the LG Revolution would be comparable if it were a dual core Tegra 2 phone...

So far my choice is between this phone and the Bionic haha. BUUUT with the BINGING and questionable processor its starting to look like the Bionic wins it for me haha
