no exchanges for repeated dx issues

im in the process of exchanging my dx for the fourth time and i learned something from the verizon rep. i asked her how many replacement dx's i would have to go through before they let me change to a different phone. she told me they no longer have that policy and that that policy ended january of 2010. so im sure this has been posted before but i didnt see it. so if it has sorry for the repeat. dont get me wrong i love my dx but if it repeatedly malfunctions when i need it then its not worth it. i love the phone but not that much.

Call Verizon direct, most stores will give you wrong info. I had an NV touch and had it replaced 3 times( POS) and they gave me a DX replacement. This was last Dec all I had to do was buy the battery since the replacements do not come with battery or charger, the NV charger is the same. Call repair center and keep going up levels until you get satisfaction.

I would call and ask to be elevated to a manager. Explain to them nicely but firmly what you expect. 4 replacements is ridiculous. Don't mention any policy. It doesn't cost Verizon any more money/hassle to give you a refurbed phone in a different model. What would you choose? Not a lot of options that compare to the X's features.

i would go through another dx then or 2 before i actually got serious bout swapping. by they might have something new. she told me they stopped doing it since someone on oprah announced the policy on national tv. she did give me the option to buy a different refurbed phone at the 2 year price but who wants to buy something when they should be giving you something that works. like it was my fault that it randomly shut down and froze. also that was vw level 2 customer service. i dont deal with the stores. that way when i get an idiot that wants to argue i can just hang up and call again. at the store their tech guys do something like a battery pull or a hard reset and think their magic touch fixed it and when you go back they do the same thing like the problem is going to actually go away. yes there are some tech guys that are good, i just havent meet them.

I am a verizon salesman... We have a list of refurb phones we will trade or sell for a discounted price after 2 replacements. All are refurbished though. Not that, that is good or bad though. Kinda strange how it works though at most stores. Even though you paid a lot for your DX you will probably end up having to pay around $50~$100 for a different phone if you go through a corporate store. calling them on the phone I have heard they will offer you a different model after so many replacements. <--- That part I am not sure of though

I would not pay for any phone. You paid for a phone, it has a year warranty, they keep giving you broken phones. Tell them give me a different phone, or let me out of my contract.

The contract is subsidizing the cost of the phone. If they can't provide you with a properly working phone, you shouldn't be tied down with a contract.
