Help no exit option in browser?

It's really annoying.... Why would they not put a exit option in the browser?

Also u can change the setting for when the screen shuts off but nit when it dims? Or when the lock screen times out? 4.0 looks a lot cooler but I liked all the detailed settings in 2.2. Again its annoying.... Very annoying.

Exit buttons are not required in Android as the OS will automatically shut down apps as and when necessary. That being said, most apps can be closed by use of the back button. I do understand your feelings on the matter as I felt the same when I first began using Android, but once I got out of a WinDoze state of mind, I was fine with it.
 
I see. Did just bring up my browser and loaded the home page rather then already having it stored and just popping it up. However I notice even tho my history is cleared it will sstill take me back to all the pages I viewed days prior. Normally browsers will not do that. On a fresh start u can nit go back, only foward. So that tells me its still keeping a lot of data stored.

other broswers, such as dolphin, will usually ask you if you want to close or just minimize the app. can also check the remember this setting box.

Hitting the back button in the stock browser just takes you to the last page you visited. Does dolphin have an exit button?
 
once you hit the back button once or twice, it will ask you to confirm before exiting. give it a download bro and check it out. one of my favorite third party browsers

I've got this exact same problem. Kind of annoying. I'll back all the way out and the first page it takes me to is some random google search I did two days ago. Anyone know why it's doing this?

Android ICS tablet browser has X close button. Did HTC customized browser on this
Phone or all ICS phone browsers are lime this?

Another option is "Angel browser", it has an exit button plus configurable options for clearing history, cache etc. on exit. Personally I love this browser as it's extremely configurable, lightweight, and fast. A minor niggle is that the English translation isn't too great, but definitely worth trying.
