Help No Firmware error

iwhiteout

Newbie
I have a Galaxy exhibit that we use for our employees. Originally it was on T mobile but I moved it today to ATT. I did a factory reset and updated the VPN. The phone is working fine but in order to run the app we need from the market the phone software has to be more current. When I go to settings>software update I get an error that says "no firmware". Any idea what can be done to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Well i could be wrong here but it sounds like the app you are trying to use can only work on 4.2+ devices and sadly the samsung galaxy exhibit is only supported up to 4.1...

I may need a little more i fo to verify my answer.. but thats what it "sounds like"

Hope this helped and sorry for your troubles

Thanks for the message. I think it can run on either because I ran the app for the last employee that had it when it was hooked up via Tmobile. When I look at the phone settings the current version is 2.3.6 so I need to get it up from there.

Oo ok i see.. yeah so the reason your probly getting the no firmware error is because its searching using the att config and not tmobile, im at work right now but when i get out ill look more into a workaround for you. Sorry for the trouble haha

atm i dont.. sorry.. i tried looking for the stock tar file but i cant seem to find it anywhere..

1 option that could help would be to root it.. then you can install the updated rom, but i cant say for sure it will fix your issue, and it could possibly make it worse!! so untill i can find an alternate way to officially update your device im unsure what else to do..

you can try using kies, not sure if anything will be available for your device through it but its worth a shot!!
