No flash on jellybean?

Just been watching a review on the nexus 7 on youtube and he said that 4.1 has no flash, I'm so glad I haven't bought it yet. The only reason I was going for an android tablet not an apple one was the flash. How do you get around this? On the review he couldn't go on I-player on the web and couldn't find I-player in the store either. Surely Android have just lost the one advantage over Apple!!

Adobe has given up on flash for mobile devices. This is not an Android JB issue.
Flash does still work on JB, but you will have to sideload it or load it from a backup.

Do you have to unlock the tablet/phone for that. And where would you get the flash player from? Will it automatically install?

You do not need root. You could search for flash.apk.

If you find it, download it and tap the file. The OS will ask if you want to install it.

flash is out on everything, even PCs will lose flash soon, everyone has gone to using html5

flash is dead

Well, no it isn't. Its dying, but its not dead yet. I think its going to find a certain niche, for non-mainstream use, like watching Flash animations and creating them.

People say Adobe Flash Player is out, and it's now all about HTML5, but why is it not on all mobile devices already, and we keep getting the Adobe Flash installer errror message when trying to view most video clips - shouldn't the implementation of this htlm5 on devices should have started already.

What say he...??

change the user agent settings in dolphin browser to iphone/ipad to turn on html5, cause they have no flash.

if you id your device as android or PC, it will default to flash first.

"Flash is dead."

Tell that to Amazon, which still uses Flash for Prime video streaming.

I side loaded Flash to my Nexus 7, then installed Dolphin browser and was able to watch Prime videos... until I foolishly allowed Dolphin to update to the latest version which disables Flash support. Grr.

Whatever happened to freedom of choice? Let the customers decide when Flash is dead.

There are still browsers that will support Flash. Although, as was said, Dolphin HD has already dropped it in JB.

I have the xScope Pro browser and one of their explicit updates a few weeks ago ADDED Flash side-load support for JB users, so there are still going to be some browsers that will support it.

There are already work arounds available using the xscope browser.... Its in another thread in this same lounge... Nexus 7 I think, or jelly been?, one of the two.....
